those are great examples. I think I have more of an idea of what you're after now. Might have another go today. :o)

Thanks for the entries!
for #33, we like where it's headed, but its a little like a bakery. Try more vintage.
not sure we like the points all along the outside.

your ampersand is one of our favorites!

We're not in love with #37. The cone and shake are too xerox copy looking. The ampersand is cool, but it all seems thrown together. Not sure how to help this one :(

No worries, thanks for the feedback! I agree about #37, I knew something didn't look right about it. I think it's that the ampersand is 3d and the other text isn't...it's mismatched.

Bakeries often do go with the vintage looking stamp style, might be why it reminds you of a bakery logo :-)
I could add the distressed marks to make it look older. I'd have to keep the text on top though because the font is too skinny to have marks going through it, it would be illegible. Maybe more swirls or something. I'll look into it.

I was looking at #33 and noticed it's probably the reddish brown colour that was making it look more like a bakery logo. I've done another version - #39 in blue, it looks much better

#42 has a really cool shape to it! A couple of comments:
Shakes & cones seems stretched out to make it taller. Still not in love with that font. Like the ampersand though.
can you make the starts a little smaller. they stand out too much now.
can the outer shape have an inner shape that is a little smaller and thinner, to give it some depth?
Thanks!!

Sure I'll work on it this morning. That font hasn't been made taller, it's just the height it comes in. I could edit it down though. But if you aren't keen on it all maybe I sure just try a different font :-)

#76- Thanks for the revision. For the Shakes and Cones words we'd like them to either be all lowercase or all capital letters. The ampersand looks a little squished in there. Can you try putting Shakes & Cones on one line instead of separating the name. This will stretch out the square into a rectangle, but we'd like to see what that would look like. The font used for this one- we're not sold on either.

for #77 we went backwards. the ampersand still looks smushed. the new inner lines we don't like. see the above comments for making the design into a rectangle. thanks!!

Thanks for the feedback. What sort of font were you thinking of? Serif, Sans Serif (print) , running writing, something very retro?

#88, is better! can we get smaller stars, more in line with the middle of the outer line. can you make the outer line not so thick?

Shakes&Cones is good, but it needs to be better. can we get a shadow type text for the shake word and the cone word, and can you switch the ampersand to something else. that one is just not working, its too tall and narrow.

Thanks!
