Closer, but the green needs to be a little 'brighter', i.e., more green. Almost looks black when it is small.

As I mentioned for your other design, replacing the blue with a bright, but darker green might convey oil & gas.

I still like this and as I look at it, I am thinking we may have limited ourselves on color. The usual color used to represent oil is a darker green, while red is used for gas. Perhaps, changing the blue to bright darker green might convey this image?
