I've circulated this image to some of the people in our organization and the general feedback is that they like the concept but aren't crazy about the gorilla. I tried to zero in on what elements of the gorilla were troubling and the primary feedback was as follows.
Facial expression seems a little too fun. We don't want him to look ferocious, but the gorilla should look like he's putting effort into swinging the bat. Something like

In general, Silverback Gorillas have really long and powerful looking arms and short/stocky lower bodies. The design should be more symmetrical in regard to the lower/upper body.
