too ink intensive - this will be most often used in black/white in print

since we will most often use this in print in black / white :-( small office, no color printer) can you design this with black/white in mind? Not sure it needs the blue backing for the San Mateo City Employees part. perhaps this can float higher up on the arch or within the arch?

that is what I based it on. I will do a black and white version soon.

I like how this compliments the archway to the building where our office is located, City Hall!

Not sure the all blue would pop much on the website.
The yellow / blue combo reminds me of logo already out there...I can't remember the group but it is a bumper sticker dealing with diversity/tolerance.

We have enjoyed the logos with the slogan "Serving employees...." as well so I am not sure how that will fit with this style.

Too much emphasis on "City Employees" - which are a group unto themselves here. Not a fan of the rainbow-ish look.

We opted to not seek the diversity idea. thanks for trying

Like this layout but not the graphic.

Heard back from the core team and we feel the direction should be more simple and the diversity angle seems difficult to capture so we look forward to seeing some other options and hope our recent ranking sparks new ideas!

I prefer the other designs but wanted to try to get in what you asked for. Look forward to working with you more.

I can see the difficulty in creating a variety of images to cover the many different employee work groups we have. I think this won't work and the other concepts you provided are probably better. I had hoped to meet with the core team today but we will meet tomorrow morning so I hope to provide more feedback or begin ranking our interest.

will try. any of them can have a slogan added... that is easy and the design should hold up with or without it.

police, fire, library, park crew, recreation etc can that kind of diversity be reflected?

The thing about diversity here is I think "people" and ethnic background but I would like to see diversity in workforce as it relates to job differences. Does that make sense? This logo is nice as it is so far the only one with the slogan...which we only just created when filling out the logo entry!!!

LOVE the diversity perspective! I am unable to rank until I have more feedback from the core staff so we will discuss this tomorrow morning.
