Hello SJC,
Thank you for the ranking and feedback. I understand the problem (when we design book jackets this always comes up and a variation of the client logo needs to be done to fit the unusual size ratios.)
I did a few variation keeping the 1/2" restriction in mind. I was not sure what orientation the logo will be but I am submitting several variations which would work whether you have a 1/2" height width restriction. It would probably be best that the logo read with a horizontal layout (logo read along the width of the CD laying the CD flat) since this would allow for a bigger type size. Hope that makes sense. This layout worked much better when I reduced the logo to the final size. If the base height is only 1/2" tall, then the letters will only be about 6 - 7 pt and the word "communications" will be all but lost.
Also, I kept the typeface to the original logo too, but added a bit of weight (boldness) so that the logo would be somewhat truer to the original but not look clunky.
Anyway, your additional feedback and thoughts would be appreciated.
Thank you. :)
