I played off of the word discovery with the use of binoculars for the CO. If there is anything you would like to see changed, just let me know. :)Thanks!Marcelo 11 years ago Audrey Ronis-Tobin Client Hi Marcelo,You captured the look of "fun" that we are seeking! That's so wonderful! We love the font and your use of color. We didn't all immediately identify that the CO were actually binoculars, so we're still digesting that - it's a nice play on the name, though. We would like to see the RJCC logo larger in relation to the Camp Discovery logo - somewhere about equal in size, give or take. We'll have more feedback for you in the morning. Thanks,Audrey 11 years ago Night Owl Logo Designer Hi AudreyHope all well. Thanks for the ranking and encouraging words. I'll work on the binoculars a bit more and make the suggested changes. Any feedback you get, let me know and I'll work those in too. :)Thanks again.Marcelo 11 years ago Audrey Ronis-Tobin Client Hi Marcelo,Here is a link to my dropbox with our logos: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/w5p6gwr3c6mc1up/oGw17HsRl7. Please let me know if this doesn't work. (I wasn't able to upload an eps file to the logotournament site.)Thanks,Audrey 11 years ago Night Owl Logo Designer Hi Audrey,Got the files! I'll be working on this today. :) Please let me know if you or your colleagues have any suggestions. As always, thanks!Marcelo 11 years ago Audrey Ronis-Tobin Client Hi Marcelo,I've had a bunch of discussions with my colleagues today. We just don't see how the binoculars are going to work. They disrupt reading the name of the camp, and if anything they look more like glasses than binoculars. But we love the font! Also, you pulled the children from our early childhood logo. They're so cute, but while the camp starts at kindergarten, it runs through 9th grade. This logo needs to skew older. Is there any way that you could simplify the logo so that it is 50/50 with the RJCC part of the logo, and add in some element(s) of the fun without it being too busy? (What about goggles tossed over the name, by the way?)Thanks!Audrey 11 years ago Night Owl Logo Designer Hi Audrey,I'll work on it now. I'll try a few options, should I add the same style kids but older versions, or a mix of the young one with a couple of older? I can also try doing away with the kids and keep just the activities. Thanks,Marcelo 11 years ago Night Owl Logo Designer Hi Audrey,Please let me know if there are any revisions you'd like me to see. :)Marcelo 11 years ago Audrey Ronis-Tobin Client Hi Marcelo,We are considering the idea of having similar logos for both of our camps - Camp Discovery for K to 9th grades and Camp Bear Ridge for 1-1/2 to 5 years. Neither you nor the top designer whose logo we like for the early childhood camp entered both contests. She doesn't feel comfortable submitting a design to this tournament, but she said that she would be very happy to share her ideas/files with you (her logo tournament name is JMHdezine). We're not sure that this is going to work out, but would you be able to design another logo concept in addition to the top choice you created that we like? We are thinking about maintaining the signpost but swapping out the little kids with older kids (2nd to 9th grades). One kid could be wearing a swimsuit with a towel over the shoulder and goggles, and another kid could be doing something else campy like painting, exploring nature (lying in the grass with a magnifying glass or looking at plants/animals around the pond/building with sticks), dancing, playing sports, etc. This is along the lines of some of the ideas that you have already presented, but the challenge would be making this appeal to older kids. Another idea would be not to include kids at all but more of the elements that you have like sports balls, binoculars, goggles, canoe paddles, hats, etc. Also, while we like the signpost idea, one drawback I can see is that it shrinks the size/readability of the camp names. Any ideas on making that stand out more? Please let me know what you think? Thanks,Audrey 11 years ago Night Owl Logo Designer Hi Audrey,Not a problem. Faith and I get along very well. In fact the other day when you mentioned that you had the other contest running, I forgot to address that issue. With Faith in that contest, I was in the same dilemma - lol. Even though we have competed in several contest together, seeing that we both had won one of your contest and few entries at the time. Telepathically we both felt the same. I have no problem in working together, feel free to ask her to use any element from my designs if you like. I'll be in contact with her so together we get you exactly what you want. This can work out just fine don't worry. :)Thanks for the info. I will see how to get the sign to work. You are right that we need to figure out a good scale to have both name share equal size without getting over cluttered. For the figure of the kids, note how I made the boy in in the O of discover appear older. I wanted to maintain the same style as the cute little kids Faith had done. Is that style prefered or should I make a boy that appears more teenager, even if the style is a bit different. Please let me know.Thanks.Marcelo 11 years ago Audrey Ronis-Tobin Client Hi Marcelo,We really love your designs! You are so creative. We have a couple requests. First, the sun doesn't replicate well in black & white. Could you try the more traditional rays? Second, I know that I said we love the font, and we do. But we've gotten some feedback that it could skew too young. Would you be able to try a different font? The kids are great - the boy looks more like a teen while the girl still looks young. Thanks,Audrey 11 years ago Night Owl Logo Designer Hi Audrey,I'll work on these changes. I wanted to do a mix of older and still include a younger child. What age group do you think would be best for the girl? Please let me know and I'll get them uploaded ASAP. :)Thanks,Marcelo 11 years ago Audrey Ronis-Tobin Client Hi Marcelo,Thanks. You got it right on when you said you wanted to do a mix of ages. We think the girl should look around 2nd grade-ish. Little kids look up to big kids, but big kids would never go to a baby camp. Thanks,Audrey 11 years ago Night Owl Logo Designer Hi Audrey,I made the girls a bit older. I completely agree with "Little kids look up to big kids, but big kids would never go to a baby camp." I also gave you a couple of more options with the fonts. There are thousand to choose from so if you know of one that you may like to see, let me know. I could also, give the logo an even older feel to appeal more to the teenager, but since it the parents deciding on the camps, I don't want to appeal to just the teangager as it may intimidate parent of pre-teens. Please let me know how you feel with the new versions. Forgot to mention: I added a black and white version as well as a greyscale so the you can see what the logo might look like in those colors. Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from you. :)Marcelo 11 years ago
