You must be the official RMC rep for this contest! Here is my initial emblem idea for your review: #33, #34. I was trying to walk the line between too much, yet enough to reflect the club's beliefs and activities.
Let me know your initial thoughts, and we can go from there. Thanks!
Dear Good Guy....your design is more than good! We really think it is strong and it is going in the right direction. Is there anyway to reflect all four RMC passions (cigar, scotch or beer, sport and cards) ...we know this is a challenge b/c we don't want the creative to get too busy, but we thought we would at least ask you to try. Maybe instead of the ribbon, you use a cigar? By the way, we didn't love the golf club execution b/c this creative become too preppy and too "buffy meets mitsy at a country club in greenwich , ct...too high brow"....can't wait to see the next version!!!! TY.
Sounds great, Laurie. Thank you for the detailed feedback—makes my job much easier. I will see what I can do and have some revisions posted later today. Talk with you then!
Here is a revised design for your review! #57 I added a lit cigar next to the cards, because there is obviously no better place to enjoy a fine Cuban than with a game of poker. I will try and implement some sort of drinking element soon as well, but I wanted to get this in front of your eyes ASAP.
Also, since the cigar introduces shades of brown, I thought you might want to do the same to the pigskin. It's just a matter of personal preference, but here is the two side by side for easy comparison: #57 vs #58
Love the brown element. the cigar is hidden...wonder if you can use the cigar differently and maybe write real men's club inside the length of the cigar. not sure it is possible to incorporate all 4 elements cleanly without muddying up the design...our ultimate goal is to have a simple RMC treatment that can be used on glasses but a more fun , complementary treatment to use on a tshirt
Yeah, I realized the cigar was lost at that size, so I have been working on a new design that incorporates a larger cigar, as well as a glass of scotch. I will definitely try out your cigar/word idea though, as that is a great suggestion.
Also, I will submit a simplified version for glasses and what not as well. More to come!...
