A different alternative from using the redwood tree, the logo symbolizes the roots, the foundation of investing and going upwards, almost like the seed is planted with "Redwood Capital Trust", perhaps slogans can be added to the bottom such as "Investment Success from the Ground Up" it is being used by Redwood Capital Paterners so i'm not sure if that is your company. The emphasis is on focusing on the foundation of the company and it's investments.
