Hi there,

Hope your having a good week so far?

Here are some of my concepts. I've gone for something that's fairly clean and simple, yet striking. Creating an icon that works well within the logo or as a stand alone element, one that can be used for things like favicons or watermarks.

The logos are 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,

It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say.
I look forward to your comments or thoughts.

Regards,
Angus

Hi Angus,

Thanks for the good variety of ideas. We've generally been trying to trend toward a wordmark style of logo. Specific feedback:

#52 This is right on target, and is one of our top contenders. I wonder if there might be some font selection and/or modification to the form of one or more of the letters that could help convey our key ideas of Trustworthiness, Reliability, and Intelligence?
#53 This fits the spec, but I'm reluctant to use an approach that puts white letters against a dark background -- that seems to limit the applicability of the logo.
#54 We've been trying to stay away from having too much of the area being taken up by a graphical element, and we'd like to try to limit the logo to two colors. That being said, the graphical element you have here is tasteful and classic, which does tend to convey our key ideas of Trustworthiness, Reliability, and Intelligence.
#50 Compared with #54, this graphical element seems less classic, and not as good a fit for what we are trying to convey.

Thanks,
Eric

PS When I move a few of these to the "not interesting" basket, that is just my way of keeping track of things. It is not meant to turn you off on the project. #52 is a strong candidate.

Hi Eric,

Many thanks for then great and detailed comments and feedback, very much appreciated!

Let me see what variations I can work up on #52.
Will go work on that now.

Have a great rest of your Friday.

Cheers

Hi Eric,

Here are a few new iterations ...

I've tried to bring through trustworthy and reliability by creating a stronger font.
With #62, I've subtly altered the I within the name, creating an upward positive arrow in the negative white space.
And with #64, altered the "A's" slightly.

I look forward to your thoughts.

Cheers

Congratulations on being one of our top five. We've appreciated the effort and wonderful designs you've produced so far.

As we look at all the submissions across our top five, our main thought is the font selection and/or letter forms may not be as simple/classic as is appropriate for a hedge fund. Below are logos from three existing funds that we think capture this simple/classic look and feel, but we are open to other ideas you might have.

Hi Eric,

And thanks for a great project (regardless of the outcome).

Not a problem, let me work on some new font iterations based on the above.

Speak to you soon,

Hi Eric,

Thanks again for the feedback ... Here are a few new iterations with slightly more classic font choices. Some have great characteristics, so please do enlarge as large as possible to see them.

Look forward to your thoughts.

#177 is really nice. Can you try some minor variations on this one? Perhaps font for "Capital" could be darker? Perhaps the font for "Capital" could be larger? Any other minor variations you think might be appropriate for what we are trying to communicate?

#176 is a close second to #177. Can you try some minor variations (like with #177) on this one, too?

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the feedback and direction ...

Here are a few iterations of both #177 (#213 - #216) and #176 (#217 - #220).
I've experimented with darker and lighter for the colour, and also tried larger for capital, along with more spaced, less or all the way across.

Hope you like them, and of course if you'd like to see any more just shout.

Regards

Thanks for these great designs. For this last iteration, we are not looking for any big changes, just some minor tweaks before we make the final selection.

#215 is really good. Could you try some variations in the treatment of "Capital" to see how they look? Specifically, (1) spread the letters in "Capital" out a bit (but nowhere near as much as in #213), (2) make the letters in "Capital" a bit darker gray, (3) try both spreading the letters in "Capital" out AND make them a bit darker?

Hi Eric,

Not a problem at all, would be a pleasure ...

Here are three new options:
#242 - Capital slightly more spread out, same grey (50% black)
#243 - Capital spread out a tad more and slightly darker still (70% black)
#244 - Capital out a bit more and again a tad darker (80% black)

Personally in terms of spread on the word Capital, I think I prefer the middle option (#243). It balances against Recursive.

Look forward to your comments.

Cheers
