Hello James - I wanted to provide a progressive design that required some interaction from the viewer both the youth you work with and supporters. Since it's a single-word name, I wanted a design that did not immediately reveal itself. Additionally, as your organization deals with at-risk youth, I also wanted to stay away from the "little people" made out of swooshes and spheres, which I think are overused icons with non-profit organizations and perhaps too soft in this particular case. The different fonts represent movement and change in additional to a slight reference to "tags" (as in urban graffiti). The box is a purely graphic way to present the whole thing. It's one color so it will go easy on any printing budgets.
