thanks for the memories... I grew up in Dallas in the 60's and remember going to the cafeteria with my family - fried okra and tapioca pudding come to mind... want to think it was Lubello's????? but may be wrong... it was in North Dallas and I can picture it... fun to try to come up with an idea to capture what you want.
