here you go... because I teach 6th grade religious school at my synagogue - I really wished the kids would put even a tiny bit of Jewish in their parties... but alas - they don't want to .. I mean her Bat Mitzvah is right after Passover and the themes of the parasha is all about food and charity! could be a great thing to work into the celebration too!
I respect your comments, but I will also share with you that my daughter is a day school graduate, has a very strong link to Israel as we have already visited there as a family, and part of her mitzvah project has been baking for, collecting and delivering food for our Mitzvah Food Pantry. She is more connected to her religion than most children her age (in fact, she will be reading 4 of the Torah readings for her service herself in addition to her Haftorah), and I am very proud of her accomplishments. There is much that will be Jewish about her party, which will be an evening party after her Sat morning Shabbat service - including the Havdallah that will be leading off her party. I'm fine with her wanting a 5 pointed star rather than a Jewish star for this festive design.
Sounds like you have a lot to be proud of ... sounds like you ARE incorporating the themes of her parasha into the celebration!
I love doing Judaic designs - but love doing any designs. I also love teaching Midah to the 6th graders at Beth Am in No California. AND my day job is providing promotional merchandise for all types of events and corporate programs.
