Lastly, could you try a version where the top and bottom bands are centered/aligned? I like the offset version, but one of the spouses thought it should be either flipped horizontally (so that it looks like the mark is going from lower left to upper right), or just centered.

Essendio: This made our top 3, and we plan to discuss in later tonight. Could you please try a version with a longer "tail" on the R, and the 3 is an overlapping subscript? The concept would be to have R3 look like the Rx symbol used for prescription medicine, such as https://www.shutterstock.com/search/rx+symbol

Cool! Could you try one where the (a) the number 3 is an exponent / superscript, like the math equation for R cubed, and (b) the colors match those of the Harvard logo /color guidelines, as below?
