Puyallup Food BankLogo Design Contest

I'm liking this. But could we make the food a little less cartoony? Also, could you incorporate "food is the first step" into the logo somewhere?

Love the simplicity and eye-catch of the hand encircling the food, but it kind of has a feeling of protecting the food, when what we want is protection of families and free sharing of food. Also the food items are well positioned and colored, but a little too cartoon-ish. Like the colors, but I wonder how it would look with deeper hues.
