Font is a good choice!
The ball might be too big... and would like some more abstract elements or a more 3d effect so that it doesn't look like clipart. For reference, some of the other designers have done this (top 5 rankings) - not asking you to copy, just so you understand what I'm talking about.....
Would also like to see a mock up with a thin black border for the different elements of the logo.
