Yes, it is very dark. You can see this color here https://www.w3schools.com/colors/colors_cmyk.asp?color=cmyk(1,%200.25,%200,%200). The value for k is very high, nearly 100 % that is black.

can you change the background to the inky blue CMYK?

Yea this one is cool too... I like it being simpler that the other with slightly different ratio of font size.
Not to play with the font/color of the text; the colours of the gold bars; and the inclusion of (both?) "GOLD" in the name and/or "Since 1904" in the tagline...?

I like it. Same as previous comment. Please develop the icon a little more.
Also, try an option that includes "Gold" in the name".
Also another option with "Since 1904" somewhere.

I like the idea of the gold ingots in the logo. Well done.
The font choice is good.
Please explore the circle/icon more and develop that idea.
