I am trying to really tap into that Primal Side, and have your logo represent that as well. I will continue to flesh out my ideas further, but for now here are a couple options for you to look at. Trying to balance Primal and Paleolithic with Cutting-edge Professionalism is tricky, but no doubt a fun challenge.

Thanks for your consideration.

A little bit different variation of the initial idea, with a different font and look.

I like Entry #8 slogan, but I'd like to see the x in lower case. I don't like the Rx at the bottom of the shields in any of the entries; Rx'd is a term we use in CrossFit for prescribed workouts, however, it is obviously used for medical prescriptions therefore I'd like to stay away from that area entirely.

I like the font effect on primal packs from entry #5, it denotes unrefined movement and explosive energy, definitely the direction I am headed. I would like to see a little more red incorporated into this entry, as the blue gets lost against the black shield.

Thanks for the quick feedback; I have submitted a couple refined versions for you to check out. Let me know if anymore changes come to mind, and I will adjust them accordingly.

Entry #9 is looking better, I'd like to see the "D" in lower case as well, I should have caught that earlier. Entry #10 "Packs" looks a bit blurry, but I like the red shield. Also in #10 I would like to see my suggestion to #9 incorporated.

The addition of foliage is a nice touch in #12, but I'd like to see the red shield.

I like what your doing, but if you could experiment with some color concepts I would love to see your ideas. When I think of Paleolithic I think of greens, browns, reds, etc.

Thanks for the additional feedback. I will work on some revisions, as well as some color alterations soon.
Talk with you again soon...

I opted for a cleaner, more legible font for the slogan, since it will typically be smaller than the rest of the type. Let me know if any of these catch your eye, otherwise I can certainly explore further options.

Thanks.

Entries #13 and #14 immediately caught my eye because of their use of color, although, I would like to see a combination of all these new colors. The red and brown backgrounds and use of the transitional color technique was an improvement. It was nice to see a change in clarity with regard to the slogan, but maybe a different font would be in order. I still prefer the shaky font effect even though it is on the logo. I would like to see some spears behind the shield too if you could do that.

I am not suggesting to start over, but I am also looking for other ideas like a character versus just a symbol, just a suggestion. I am looking for maybe the Michelin Man of Primal Packs.

The annunciation of color on Rx'd in Entry #18 is appreciated.

Sounds good, Chris. I like that you give very specific feedback—makes it a lot easier, and more effective towards getting what you want... I will add to the shield logo(s) as requested first, and then sometime in the next couple days I will see if I can come up with an appropriate character as well...

I may be done for this evening, but will be back on tomorrow late afternoon to proceed working on these.
Thanks for working back and forth so quickly with me.

Good to hear. I was looking at entry #13 and just noticed that it also utilizes the transition in color in the slogan and I liked that so I moved it up a rank. Looking forward to the shield additions; one more suggestion. I would also like to see some nuts and berries - shield resting in some nuts and berries? Might give some opportunity for color. Also I want a focus on contrast - Primal Packs whatever the color scheme must be unblended with the background and stand out i.e. #13, #15, #17. One big critique in general - the first time I saw your logo I immediately thought of a modern sports team, although, CrossFit is a sport it is a very individual one and therefore I want to stray away from that and focus more on the food. I appreciate the work you have done thus far and the quickness of submitting your revisions, however, this initial feeling has been confirmed by a colleague of mine. Entry #6 gives good focus on food and that hunting mentality, but again I enjoy your use of foliage, and willingness to experiment with color.

Hey Chris... just letting you know I have not abandoned your contest. I have a couple new ideas I am working on, and hope to have finalized this evening. I see what you mean about the athletic feel--I thought that was a big part of it, but now I know to go more towards hunting/food...

More to come tonight or tomorrow!
Thanks.

I am still working on an actual character to represent Primal Packs, but for now, I wanted to get your take on this sun design. Let me know if any of these appear to be a starting point or not...

I hope to have the character guy ready for you tomorrow night... have to add some details and color him and then he will be ready!

I think it looks better without the sun continuing on...

In entries #30 - #34 we went from primal to tribal in regards to the suns rays; not what I am looking for, however, I like the incorporation of the landscape concept as well as the addition of fruits and their colors. This direction in the end unfortunately has not caught my eye, but I am looking forward to your character with much enthusiasm. Just FYI, there have not been any attempts so far at cave drawings, something that is very paleolithic and something that I was hoping designers would key in on, but have yet to display. Good luck and thanks for your hard work.
