Thanks for your submissions. I like that your ideas are down a different line of thinking. Very creative. Would like to see you continue to explore other ideas you might have.
I would like to see concepts which are more contemporary, cartoony/playful, web 2.0 like. And the use of the plum or a house doesnt need to even be in the concept.
Regarding entry #37, Maybe this would be interesting without the diamond shaped house between plum and living. And then use the slogan "The place you want to live" to be more in the shape (profile) outline of a plum. Not sure. Just an idea.
Regarding #38 & #39, I like this idea. As it gives the feeling of "a nice place to be" wonder if you could continue with this concept in a few different directions. My fear is that this might send a different message, one that is for old people, sitting around.
Entry #36, I need to think it thru a bit more, I like it for some reason, but on the fence. If you have other/additional ideas in this direction, would be open to seeing these as well.
Looking forward to additional ideas and concepts from you!
Thanks for all the work - I feel the strongest options for me are #118 - the image I really like however the font is a bit too squared off and thick - perhaps a rounded font would look nice - i also like #112 - maybe some different color choices.
Based on the one or ones you choose i will review tomorrow the color ok? Here is a little late 6 am i didn´t have many time to do study colour for your logo. But tomorrow will do.
Thanks for the new entries! The one tree in #175 is interesting. But I am not sure I like the base of the tree. Maybe try it without the base. And further experiment with different colors, fonts, and weights, etc.
Wanted to give you a bit of feedback as we move into the top 5 phase.
First of all, really like entries you have submitted and how easy it has been to exchange feedback. I also have reviewed your other contest entries and very much liked your other work as well. Which gives me the confidence you will help us get to the end result we are trying for.
With that in mind ...
We are interested in pursuing further the entries #235, #278, #236. We like the colors and layout. However with this design direction we are not in love with the tree silhoutte. Some of the other entries have had a better look for what we think a plum tree typically looks like. Maybe something closer to what you did previously on Entry #229, #230, and #232, but will a less dense tree, meaning little bits of white showing thru. I might be too anal on this point. But regardless here is a link to what I think a typical plum tree looks like. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-N3w25Acd03s/UU9vZJdpC5I/AAAAAAAACRQ/bopTGjen5ww/s1600/Purple+Leaf+Plum.JPG
In a completely different direction ... we like the concept of a building skyline or streetscape outline. See the post i submitted with google links of the neighborhoods our buildings are in.
We are not necessarily looking for something in the skyline that represents Los Angeles. But more of the feeling that you are on a neighborhood street, with several buildings side by side. Hard to do while keeping it simplistic and clean ... but if you have ever walked down an old street, where the houses and buildings have been there forever. Some streets just feel good. They feel inviting. There is some sort of good vibe. This happens a lot when you walk in old cities in europe for example, cause they have been there so long. Our apartments are in areas like this in various parts of los angeles. Would love for you to take a stab at this direction.
I´ve read your comment and understood. I´m at work right now. When i arrive home by night will start working on some solutions on my scratch book. When i finish them, will pass them to the pc, and them i will tell you, i´ll need you to to put me on top5 after that because "Only the top 5 ranked designers will be able to submit entries."
Sorry just to submit this version. This is vector also.
Since it is 4:32 am here i don´t have time to perfect it today, i´ve lost many times with the drawing and the time have fly when i´ve notice it, i must sleep because of the work tomorrow. But i´m showing you my drawings in vector.
I will simplify the logos tomorrow and do the tree based on this #235, #278, #236, with the little white spaces. Feel free to give some opinion if you want about the drawings, but i will rework them and remove the scratch effect.
I reviewed your vector drawings. Thanks for submitting them. The one with the bicycle could be cool. Just not sure we have the time left in the contest to explore this. And also, I have seen some of the other designers attempts at creating this street building style logo. I am just not sure it is feasible considering the visual space, the designs just seem to get to o complicated and too busy. They lose the other thing I am trying to maintain of a simplistic design.
Therefore, to avoid you spending time with no benefit, I recommend that you abandon the building designs.
I am going to go back and focus on ranking the existing designs.
I am wrapping up the contest and doing my final rankings. I wanted to thank you for all your entries. You had a great amount of variety and creativity. I have included your three entries which were my favorite out of all your entries and am in the process of ranking them among all the others.
Towards the end of the contest you submitted a great number of entries which gave me the opportunity to think through what options and possibilities I might pursue with the different logos. Ultimately though I have had to decide on one.
