Hi Grafikus,

Thanks for jumping into my contest. I took a look at your portfolio and recognized the quality work you have done for others and am excited to see more from you.

I like the direction you are headed with the building outlines.

My feedback ...

Would like to go with a more contemporary font. My higher rankings of other entries are in part due to the look and feel achieved with the font choice and layout. If you could play with this, that would be great. Also I am not that excited about the green color chosen. Maybe try orange or some other colors?

Now moving on to the image of the buildings ...

we like the concept of a building skyline or streetscape outline. See the post i submitted with google links of the neighborhoods our buildings are in.

We are not necessarily looking for something in the skyline that represents Los Angeles. But more of the feeling that you are on a neighborhood street, with several buildings side by side. Hard to do while keeping it simplistic and clean ... but if you have ever walked down an old street, where the houses and buildings have been there forever. Some streets just feel good. They feel inviting. There is some sort of good vibe. This happens a lot when you walk in old cities in europe for example, cause they have been there so long. Our apartments are in areas like this in various parts of los angeles. Would love for you to take a stab at this direction.

Some specific ideas that might work ...

Maybe try it with or without the tree to see if it is better without.

Also, The outline you presented of the buildings feels to me a bit too traditional. This is a tough balance as the neighborhoods we are in are old, so you will see a building that is 80 years old, and then the next building is very modern, and then the next is a house for a single family, and the building next door is a large apartment building. If you can play with different looks to try to accomplish this feeling that would be great!

Thanks
Jake

Hi, thanks for the feedback! I would love to work on the revisions based on your suggestions, however, we're already on the top 5 stage and only those ranked in the top 5 can post/upload revisions.

Hi Grafikus,

Thanks for #351. I very much prefer to your previous entry.

I adjusted the ranking as a result. Would be interested to see your other entry.

Some feedback on #351.

The door should open the opposite way, with hinges on the right side, not left. The is the more common side doors open from.

Also would still like to see some of the building silhouettes to be more contemporary, mixed in with the more old traditional style buildings. I do think you are getting close to capturing the feel of the neighborhoods we are in.

Thanks

Hi Grafikus,

#363 is really good. You are on the right track!

Some small changes to #363 if you dont mind. Can you remove the light post? And can you change the color to gold of the third building from the left. It will make that building standout. Like it's our building in the crowd.

Thanks

Color variation --- #364

Grafikus,

Maybe also bring "Plum Living" up closer and tighter to the image. Maybe even have it overlap a bit.

Last thing would be to play with the font a bit. We like the idea of doing cursive font for "Plum" and a straight/contemporary font for "Living"

Thanks

Hi Grafikus,

I think I like #366 the best. I still think the font, sizing, and treatment for "plum living" needs some minor changes. But it's close. The font seems larger than #363. The gold color seems a little darker, would prefer the shade in #363. And I appreciate the attempts with #367, #368, and #369. But for some reason it doesnt work. I want the font to be upscale but not too upscale for the word plum, and balanced with something contemporary for living.
