Really like the way the log shows what appears to be a road or a path heading off into the distance, which captures the concept of a new path forward in energy. That said, appears more like a road, as most paths have curves, etc. Also would like to see some aspect that shows or depicts energy, or perhaps even motion. Would prefer more traditional lettering, maybe even in black. Logo and name need to be more bold, i.e., have a bit more pop.
Adding the blue really helps diffentiate things. Remember, ultimately this is about investing in natural gas projects and companies, helping in the transition from dirty oil to clean burning natural gas. Using a flame straight up, however, is too much like every other natural gas company; hence the leaf idea is good.
The box shape also is nicely done, although it's not clear how that ties to the concept of a new path forward in energy.

Maybe a logo incorporating a transformation of black oil to clean blue gas would capture the “New Path” concept better. Secondary themes to consider include improved environment, power generation, cost savings, American energy independence and job creation. .
