I like #51 except the pose that the person is in. I would prefer a more androgyneous body either looking at the sunset or another pose that's not a yoga pose
Hi Faith, I think you are really capturing our vision and we are really feeling this logo.... I found a figure that we love, you just have to make her flow with the wave. How do I send it to you?
This is Ruby. So far, you've been corresponding with Marni about the figure. Anyway, we have a few revisions for you during the judging phase.
~Could the spine in #70 be have a more gradual curve? The low back ended up looking a bit like a right angle when translated to silhouette. ~Are we allowed to use free fonts from fontspace? May we see what some of the simpler ones in the 1960 category, look like? I like Bootle, (are pussycat and ice cream soda too silly? Can we take a look to see if they'd work?) Maybe Harlequin to suggest nouveau to match your little wave. I heard that Deco doesn't actually go with the relaxed 1960s surfer vibe in the real world of design, but the other font you used is really easy on the eyes. What do you think about that rule? We're open to your suggestions for a retro font that isn't overdone. ~Can we please see design with less texture and one with no texture?
Yes, you can use the free fonts on fontspace but only if the license allows for commercial use and I have included Bootle #73 and Pussycat #71, but ice cream soda was not available. I also included another deco style font #72 which I thought was nice as well and I don't see a problem blending 60s surfer with deco, the figure takes on a more deco style with the font. I also curved the back a bit more and reduced the texture. If there is something else you would like to see, please let me know. Best Regards, Faith
*Could we please see the design with Parisian for the font? We know it's trendy, but it's classic and easy to read, so there you have it!
*We're thinking that the little wave we like so much competes with the figure, so we have a few thoughts on how to remedy this. How will it look if we:
~~~Simplify the surface of the water and stylize it to match the wave so there's less for the eye to process ~~~Take out all texture ~~~Try another figure that flows better with round sun and curve of wave (Marni will send link).
The colors are already so striking that I think the logo will have more impact with less to look at.
What do you think of something like this? #75 I think it is simple and elegant and my honest opinion of the other position is that it somewhat reminds me of a child in the womb against the sun and doesn't really read clearly in silhouette :) Let me know what you think? Thanks, Faith
Looks amazing! We thought a couple of last minute look-sees would be capitalizing only the Ps and leaving the rest lowercase, and then trying some versions in blue instead of red. Maybe endless summer was just a means to an end. We love it in red, but deco has taken over, and we might be missing the obvious! How about a deep blue with a little green in and one in an indigo? Love for the sun to stay golden. Open to your ideas, too, of course.
Hand looks great. I forgot to tell you we should lose the boob, though. The whole Pilates world would love for guys to work out with us, too, and so our lady should look just that one notch more androgynous. Thanks for humoring me with the colors. I think the sunset is better than the moonlight, after all! So I guess a little breast alteration for our model, and then, perhaps we could see the all-caps version next to the sentence case one in red?
Wow, never knew this would be such a long process. You guys work hard to please the clients you serve! I'm going to suggest to the website that clients be advised of the value of pre-contest research. Your job could have been a lot easier...
Our research is telling us, that, even though I just want to climb into #84 and be there forever, the blue side of the wheel is more likely to attract the business we are seeking. Is it fair, at this late stage, to still be asking for revisions?
If so, we'd like to see: ~~~ #83 with the title case letters white, and the sun a notch lighter/less yellow. ~~~ Same as above only slightly greener background ~~~ An indigo version of this that is closer to blue than the purple of #79?
Also, what happens if our dream logo looks perfect on screen and the color doesn't translate to print. Do we just deal with that at the printer?
Yes, you can still ask for revisions, but you will have to give me free Pilates for life! :) Also, if you choose, you can contact support and ask for an extension of the judging as you are still working with the designer on revisions.
As far as the color, what you are seeing on screen is rgb color for the web and the printed version will be in cmyk which can change when printed, but yes, your printer should be able to tweak the colors so that they print exactly how you would like.
