Piano Beginnings at SeaLogo Design Contest

I love your design. Is there another way to incorporate keys or keyboard instead of a grand piano. Curious

#8 I also like this entry. When I print this one - the black letters are very difficult to read. On screen it's good. Suggestions? Maybe a lighter background color???

thanks for the feedback - hope these work better... we can do banners and sign versions as well. not sure what you mean by sharp edges... and did you want a grand piano design as well?

also these are lower resolution and not vector - when you get the final versions it will be much cleaner.

I'm meaning sharp edges in the feng shui sense - more flow/rounded corners, not boxed - very hard to describe what I mean. Does that help?

#14 & 13 much easier to read. #15 & 12 will have to think about.

#7 Curious, is there a way to make the porthole look like keys inside or in the round black line?

I'm not deleting any of these just yet - as they all have potential.
Can you try a #17 with a cruise ship in place of the grand piano?

#18 A thought - can you do the ship in a less heavy look - too bold right now.

I agree... tried an outline type but it just didn't look right... what about an anchor? may try that soon but it is a VERY busy weekend.... will try.

I love your artistic work!
Part of me is still feeling like I need to see another side of creativity so as to make a perfect decision.
If and when you have time, could you look at the artistic concept of the logo at http://www.specialtynaturalmedicine.com. I'm not looking to copy it; but I like the elegance and the stand alone name and I like how I could have the freedom to insert, or not, objects like keys, ships, notes in the center of the leaves. I don't need leaves, but I like the flow and scroll. Thanks so much. You are appreciated!

Since I really like your work; but just kept leaning toward Qineyz's ship/wave logo (that just got axed by logo court) - is there any chance that you could create something similar without breaking the LT "rules". I would appreciate your consideration. Thanks.

I can try... you don't really want a logo that is a copy of clip art or someone else's image... it is really something that can get you into trouble legally... but we can take the concept and do something similar...

I am checking with administration about this situation...and will get back to you... if needed they can extend the contest.

Happy to do it but the concept may still belong to the original designer and possibly he can still get *some* credit for the idea even though he did something wrong by tracing the actual ship.

Please just don't put yourself in jeopardy Carol. Maybe this is just a way for the Universe to say flow is not the answer like I thought?? I just know that I felt that my logo needed to easily work for a banner approach to my website and still look great on smaller venues, say the message lightening fast and cause action.

so it seems that there are a lot of questions about the legal and ethical situation - the concept was a good one and developed by a different designer, unfortunately an element of the entry was not okay, if you still want me to check further I can see if that designer will share with me and I can help further develop it without using the inappropriate elements....
