Thanks for reviewing. I was not sure if I should go more realistic or cartoony. Please let me know what you suggest. Also, feel free to suggest color combo or fonts you might like to see. Thanks :)
Thanks for the input, it helps alot. I will reverse the emphasis. Also, I was planning on adding the background sceen, but ran out of time. Now that I am in the Top 5, I have a bit of time to do it. :)
As always, feel free to make any request or suggestions. Thanks!
I wanted to put up additional options so that you can maybe mix-n-match. For instance, the text in #48 and #49, you may like the text of one but the colors of the others. Rather than flooding the contest with variations of the same logo, feel free to request the customization you might like to see. Hope that makes sense.
Also applies to #52 and #51, for instance: I can add the color version of the dogs, into the layout of #52 if you like. The howling wolf could also be colorized, but I wanted to keep the emphasis more on the dogs. Even though dogs are descendants of wolves (and most people know that), as an alpha predator it may be a bit to menacing. The adage in advertising/marketing is to "accentuate the positive" so dogs having fun is my personal preference, but I can also offer up a version of a pack of wolves, just let me know. :)
Entry 48, I think I may try "pets oasis" in italic or a kind of posh font, thin, and between 2 paws. I like the concept in this design, they are going out of the box...and there is energy and fun. I welcome any other ideas you would have, and do not worry to swamp the ranking box.
I got your message right as I was uploading. You do know your dogs, that is a lab doodle (what funny was that I initally thought to make him proportionally smaller to represent a small dog, but liked him as he was. I will see if I have a small dog to reference. There is a dog park down the street so if I don't have the right reference image, I can just go visit the dog park. :)
I'll see what I can get. In the mean time, I made a few changes as suggested.
I just realized that you left a comment on the public area of the contest. I just uploaded.
We may be out of town for a while to take advantage of my kids last days of vacation. Once the contest is completed though, we can talk via email or directly. Thanks again.
I have to apologize but I just realized on Thursday that the contest was for only $214. I usually reserve detailed type work for $400+ contest and then it is only one version of the illustration. Because I had my own reference photos readily available, I made several dogs in these illustration. Even realizing that the actual prize is half of what I would regularly charge, I still decided to follow through what I started and throw in another dog. The time it takes to create an illustration does not justify the cost, but I did not want to leave you hanging.
Seeing your message asking for additional changes and specifically asking for a Shih Tzu would require starting from scratch. It is very difficult to just add anther element and have everything match exactly as before. The colors are different because I had to redraw from scratch when I drew the Beagle. At this point it would be better if I save the dog photos for other contests. Once I use an original photo in these drawing, I can no longer use it again since, I am selling all rights to the illustrated image. That is now 4 original images that can be used in four different $400+ contests. As a business woman, I'm sure you can appreciate that, I just can't give away potentially $1600 of work for only $214. I was still willing to keep the designs in, but I have since dropped in ranking. I was worried for you since, when I last checked, it seems that everyone else had either dropped out or was marked "not interested". It may be better to go with a simpler line drawings created by some designers. Fortunately, the previously ranked first designer is back in the running. LOL - No pun intended :D
Please feel free to get back to me or send me a message if you have any questions or for future contests. Best of luck. :)
Hi Marcello... The cost for me was $275. I am not aware what happens on the other side, sorry. I did not have time to take care of the ranking so it is not representative of my final decision. You made lots of genuine efforts and I definitely like your proposals but they are mixed between the many designs instead of being on one only. I do prefer the lighter dogs in color because we see them better. Not sure I understand if you want to keep on in this contest or not, Valerie
