Discussion

Good use of colours, maybe section is too big. We don't have a catchy acronym to use as a graphical center

thanks for feedback it helps make a logo you will want to look at often.... do you want it more fun, more casual, more serious... etc. it all helps. This is totally influenced by your affiliate logo.

This reminds me of the Washington Capitals a bit
If there was a way to make it simpler, more symbol related and not word heavy may be better
13 years ago

our short form is PSOMA

if anything the big words /bold words should be pediatricians and ontario
maple leaf somewhere may be cool.
something totally original to symbolize pediatricians as a central symbol would be even better, something we haven't thought of. Japanese script style brush stokes making an encompassing symbol?

Too cliche, was thinking an original amalgram design, like your holistic kid or yad ezra one, but when I say that I don't mean copy those. I mean someone to sit and think of an original mark to be central to the logo that captures the essence of children's doctors, without resorting to all the usual symbols. outline of faces as opposed to the little stick figures might be fresh too, like your dog and cat ideas (again, NOT to copy those just as "idea")

#4, maybe see how this looks without the PSOMA, tweak Pediatrics Section script, add OMA at end in small font?

if pediatricians of ontario was in bolder script that is easier to catch at first glance, #1 was like that (not saying it has to be that exact script)

Logo Designer
changed to script font and other requests - hope I understood what you wanted.

Thanks for the updates. Script is nice, but probably better tp go with block font, and on looking at these, OMA might as well be same size as Pediatrics Section for #8 and #9

#18, any way a trillium with a small maple leaf in the middle can go in the middle triangle, maybe the figures can't be linked if that happens?

traditionally trillium is drawn with wide part top, point bottom at 6:00, so for that to work, the space in the middle (#18, #8) has to be flipped 180 degrees?

if the pink swishes were overlapping half circles?

Now I'm wondering if do all this it looks too much like the gov't logo (see ontario.ca) since the new Ontario gov't trillium logo has people figures in it too. Can't be too similar so maybe these last few ideas are not so good.

Looking at #17/#9, would a bi-color trillium outline work instead of the maple leaf. Not sure about the staff altho' I realize it's a common symbol for medical. OMA itself chose that (oma.org) so not sure if I want that overlap. Large version of the dot figure from our current logo (pedsontario.com) instead?

#3, move pediatrics section to top part of circle, OMA to bottom part of circle, lose both PSOMA and Pediatricians of Ontario within the logo. Change maple leaf to trillium outline with small maple leaf in middle, and stick figures reaching out into three arms of trillium?

the revisions to #3 will be done after my classes tonight or tomorrow - I teach ethics to 6th graders once a week!

ok, no problem, we've given you lots of ideas. For this one, I don't see a trillium> looks more like a shield
Previous Ont gov't trillium looked like this

flower more dominant in the design and leaf moved to the o in ontario - we can provide alternative layouts for this design if it is selected.

with a less abstract trillium

#30 without the script of Pediatrics Section + OMA in the circle but underneath the Pediatricians of Ontario
Trillium outline smaller and more in background with stick figures more stylized? Prominent? Without solid circles to outline but design gives natural round profile?

29, any way to make the outline cleaner with two overlapping half circles in some form while maintaining a symmetrical round look, chubbier friendlier stick figures, trillium not clear in this form
13 years ago

Logo Designer
hope this does okay for you - I am trying to follow your requests.

43, looks solid, but wonder if the blue background and circles came out it might look cleaner and more modern? maybe take same approach with 44 lose the background and circles, flip so the wide part of the trillium goes across top, giving it a "Y" look?

taking a look at 47, the "of ontario" looks too big, as do Pediatrics Section OMA if those were a little less prominent, this has promise
13 years ago

46 and 63, just printed in B/W, trillium doesn't show up well, don't know if it needs a different colour or bolder outline.

Logo Designer
modifications can be made only by the #1 ranked designer - I can show you how to do a black and white version so it will show up - you will want one with no gradients to work in one color.

It would be a version provided with the winning design.

I ranked you #1, does this allow you to make modification/submission>?
Wondering about proportion in this design 46, trillium slightly smaller, 8 figures slightly bigger?

Still think the trillium doesn't stand out as much in the colour version, can a dark outline be added so it stands out in the colour version. Now that we've extended the contest, any dynamic version of this can be submitted as well

Logo Designer
a dark grey circle behind provides the contrast you request.

to show the outline behind in the dark grey for contrast.

86 is looking good, but wonder about making it stand alone, logo then script banner style beside it as an alternate look
13 years ago

Logo Designer
per request alternate layout - sorry for the delay in doing this version. Various versions can be provided. Let me know if there are any other adjustments you want to see.

Would wonder about a different array of colours, say dark blue and deep red (two colours still, but maybe bolder than the baby blue and pink)

deep red & navy

When printed on a BW laser, the script don't show well, is that a function of colour or font
13 years ago

#130. darken the outline on the trillium, make small ?maple leaf in middle darker, see what can make the script more prominent in both colour and BW at same time?

Logo Designer
made the grey a bit of a darker blue grey color - made the maple leaf a solid color without gradients - trying different colors - also did a special black and white version that can be used when that is needed.
