Thanks for the suggestion. We will probably select a design and once we have ownership, then work with someone state side to make any revisions or enhancements. joe@patriotmobile.com, please send me an email so we can stay in touch. Thanks!
Not really sure what we can do. Most of us use this site as a side to our regular business, and it is an international site. The site itself is actually Canadian. The design that you like is the property of the designer to use until it is transferred to you, and no one else can really use it or imitate it.
I'm afraid that is where we are.
Your options according to site rues would be to select the design that you want (regardless of designer), Or the designer that you want, but sacrifice the design.
One option would be to select the design and gain ownership of it, and select an American designer for residual work. (Business cards, etc)
So, here's the situation... we have a logo that has received the most positive feedback, but we think the designer is in Asia... we would much rather work with someone in the U.S. by virtue of our business. So we're not sure what to do at this point. They basically took the universal "wifi or wireless connection" symbol, made it look patriotic and everyone likes it.... We've never used this site, so not sure how we can work around it.
Big fan or #140 and #141. Perfect for packaging and logo on devises. Sharp as a sign too. Also(due to white border) works on any background without paying for costly color switches.
Yeah, I get the family alliances... My undergrad was at BYU so we detest Utah. One of my daughters has taken an interest in a son of a UTE! I didn't think I would care, but my wife and I both looked at each other and were thinking the same thing! Do we want our daughter to marry a guy from the UofU???
I like the idea... but what about a minute man with the tricorn hat. Can you change the red to a darker, burgundy or blood red and the blue to a dark navy?
Yikes!....I grew up in a house divided. (Dad and sisters both Noles). My wife is a Carolina girl. Had my dad and sisters over for the game last week. It was a rough night for me! The family connection makes my "hate" for FSU a little less than some Gators. :)
I am often in and out of the site (Obviously it isnt our only focus) So bear with me on the updates. As long as I am in the top 5 designers, I can update until the end I will see what else I can put together.
Appreciate the feedback. (And yes,I am a rare conservative in this industry!)
By the way... being conservative boosts you in our rankings! ;-) Being a Gator fan... well, let's just say I went to grad school at the school up north!
I knew we'd find a conservative amongst the designers sending us samples! I like the simplicity and separating the word from the "mark." It really does help with branding. Can you try a patriot theme? We've seen some with the iconic silhouette of Washington on his horse pointing the way with his sword...

Marketing in your arena generally calls for simplicity. It is what makes the brand recognizable. (Think Verizon's check mark)
Here is a simple SMS icon that feels very American, yet fits very well in your industry.
I was also thinking a cool tagline would be "Mobile done RIGHT" (Just a subtle nod to the right side of the spectrum.)
I welcome any feedback that you feel is helpful.
Regards,
Paul
