#1 Is good but I'm not sure the shield is the image we want to focus on.
#2 is very good - I would like it better if the Red part of the circle was a partial view of the Dome of the Capitol Building AND the "THE" didn't cover up the circle. I'm not sure what to do with the THE but I don't want it to have too much focus. I like the Circle alot - with the Capitol dome I think it would drive home Washington DC as the local. Let me know if you need a better description. Thanks both designs are very creative - I think we are off to a good start.

Great improvements. I re-ranked them. #7 is my top choice. Of this style of logos - that is the best. I'm curious if other styles get submitted. Great Job!

Like the new submission - #27. Can you make the icon part more "glossy", remove the white stripes and make the capital building lines a little thicker?
