We like some of the other origami attempts better, maybe a paper cut-out dog would work better for you? We're not dead set on origami, just something that's paper based :)
Thank you I was just about to try something along those lines. I think you're right about those other ones resembling existing marks. Hope to create your winning logo very soon.
Thanks, #49 looks really cute! One problem is that it doesn't connect with labrador breed since it's a puppy, but we'll be doing some focus group testing to see what the reactions are to these.
Thank you. My earlier entry you mentioned to make it more puppy like. Hopefully still recognizable as a Lab. That is the first three letters of my last name.
I can make an older one in the same technique. Take care - Kent
Really hope you like my latest entry. I think it has a lot of character and it is clearly a Lab. Some other look more like Irish setters or bull terriers.
Thanks Kent, that last one was really cute - can you also make an older one? As I said we'll do some focus group testing just to see what people's initial reaction to the top logos are (if they associate our name with "labradors").
Sure I can keep working on it till you love it. I really want this one. So far the coloring is more towards blues and greens. Do you think the color more beige would help make the connecting "yellow lab" My original ones were trying to combine the yellow lab color and post it paper color.
Thanks Kent - it looks better, we're still getting feedback that people see it more as a comic dog and less as a paper dog, that's a tough one to differentiate. We're doing our last round of focus testing tomorrow morning to show the latest crop of logos.
Thanks, they look really good! I like both the horizontal and vertical (I put one of each in rankings, not sure about colours yet). The one thing we're not keen on is the font, so if you have any other ideas there let us know, but that can always be fixed later.
It might take us a day or two to sort through these, might need an extension.
Thanks for your effort so far, we're almost ready to decide but need the 3-day extension to tweak designs and get us to a winner. This is the feedback collected from the office and our focus group:
What we like: Cute and relatable character, which is extremely important to us
What we don't like: Still looks a bit unpolished Angle on paper lines is slightly not straight which we like but because of the angle the lines look really wavy (maybe some anti-aliasing problem?) Try to pick line angles that look flattering, maybe with bigger spacing between the lines, or slightly thicker line width. Can you make it look more like notepaper, maybe a red stripe on one of the paper pieces? Maybe a some nicer shadow between paper elements? For example, one of the front legs almost merges with the body without any visual cue except line angles being different, so it looks a bit distracting. We're not sold on any of the fonts used so far.
Thank you! I can definitely work on it till it is perfect. Even beyond the contest.
I'm not seeing the anti-aliasing problem, maybe it is a LT thing from there downsizing from a png file instead of from the original. Sure I can make all of the requested changes.
For fonts do you prefer clean and modern? Any suggestions?
I have made some revisions that I think you'll love. Of course even if you pick mine I can do more. I want everyone I work with to be totally thrilled with their new identity.
Thanks again - Kent
During judging on first place can upload revisions.
Hi Kent, our focus group is sees the dog getting a little too complicated of a design, especially at smaller sizes while at bigger size it still looks "unfinished". I don't know if there's a way for you to simplify the design, or a way to clean it up so it looks more professional (#191 is probably the closest)?
Thank you for the comments. Kind of shocked though at what seems preferred. I will definitely make modifications. Not sure what the unprofessional part means. It does look like paper. Does the fact that mine has eyes have any thing to do with it. Mine shows the loyalty and sweetness of a lab. Thank you so much, I really appreciate this opportunity - Kent
Thanks Kent! We like the direction #228 and the others are heading in, are you able to make both front paws straight again and simplify it even more, so that it looks better at smaller sizes?
