Very visually interesting designs. I think the link to our field (eye care) is well-established with these logos. My only suggestion is to consider some variations that make the lines and points of the logo a little thicker and more solid. Such changes would connote a company of more strength and substance. Overall a very nice set of designs, and probably the leader at this point in the competition.

Thank you for your sugestions and ranking. I will submit some variations with bolder lines soon, meanwhile I was tinking of an abstract iris. #9, #10Sugestions and critics are always welcome.

Thanks for the updated designs of #10 and #11. I like the idea of trying something iconic; creating a symbol that may not look exactly like an eye, but creates instant recognition when used over a long period of time. For example, the McDonald's "Golden Arches" have nothing to do with a hamburger, but when you see it over and over, it is immediately recognizable. We don't want something too abstract, because our audience (physicians and patients) will tend to prefer something simple and recognizable. The spiral iris is a good step toward the iconic theme, but I am hoping you can think of something else that evokes the eye, but isn't exactly the eye.

Hi again,

Thanks for for your comments. I am sending some new entries according to your updated brief. I was also thinking to link OC with the logo and in my #8 entry the iris contains letters O and C but maybe too subtle. :)
I am also thinking of some new ideas that evoke the eye without being an eye. :)

You continue to show some great ideas. #14 is a touch-up of our suggestion, and a nice baseline. #15 takes it a step further; but the black pupil creates a strange feeling to the eye, almost like we're looking at an animal's eye. #16 is great in that it really emphasizes the "OC" and in our area, that's appealing. It also creates an eye effect, although the eye is vertically oriented and that's a little odd....maybe possible to change the "OC" so that the eye is correctly horizontally positioned? THAT would look good, I think! The #17 is rather generic and round, doesn't create enough emphasis on the text.

I think you've really hit on something that I'd like to expand on. I believe that one could overlap the O and the C to create a "hidden" eye shape. Try using reversed colors (white letters on a blue background or blue letters on a black or silver background, etc.); changing the shape or orientation of the letters; altering the font of the O and C to create thin sections and thick sections that interact to form an eyeshape....
Imagine leaving behind the oval eyelid shape, and just focusing on the OC letters to create a simple iconic form with an embedded 'subtle' eye....try it out

Well I did have something different in mind and I'll try to describe it for you. Your most recent designs are trying to build on what I said last, but instead it's creating more of a "crab-like" logo with a big eye on this crab. How's this:
Imagine an O, perfectly round. Now press down on this from above, so it creates a horizontally flattened O. Now do the same with a C, and overlap the two to create a hidden eye in the middle. Possible? It's an idea.

Hi,
I haven't given up on the idea of inserting OC somehow into the logo but the outcome hasn't been very visually appealing. I am still thinking of it. Meanwhile, here is another design for your consideration. #59, #60.
