thanks for your quick response- let's play- I'm wanting the logo to fit easily on a pin or sticker, I think you had an earlier entry that I discarded, where the ears were not so much out of the circle, which would allow the lettering to be over the top with .com, or an OM symbol in the ring at the bottom. do you have another kind of flower? more star-like? the pressures on :) ,Valerie Reference # 69
By the way throughout the judging period (7 days), the first ranked (only) can send new variations. And the rankings can be changed as well during the judging period. So let's say I'm the first ranked in the first two days, I can send some new variations. Then someone else if first ranked. regards, Ron
well first of all thank you for taking in consideration my entries. As you can see now, the first ranked its able to send some new variations. this dosen't mean I've got to win it (as first ranked) only that I can make changes on the design. and let's say you decide that after all you don't like it that much (I hope not :) ), then you can change the rankings and the first ranked can send their own new variations. I'm gonna work now on some other variation, if any suggestion, please let me know. regards, ron
Hi Ron, Thank you for working so quickly with me yesterday. I feel like you can capture what I'm looking for. Are you able to read the "friend forum"? There is some interesting input from one of my daughters. if not I'll send it to you. Meanwhile it might help you to know..since we don't have a website for you to see..that I am a slightly aging bohemian :). Omamalama is a collective of artists, my two daughters and myself. Our products change with inspiration, unique jewelry, altered couture, found object art, prints, photography, roadside finds made new again with "green" fabrics, hand dyed fabrics for garments. I'm influenced by Mexican folk art, Dia de Muertos, bright colors, religious icons, different cultures, etc. so you can see why the rays behind the llama and flowers appeal to me.:) It may seem like we're all over the place, but it makes us happy :) ok... here's what Mikelle said...
"February 26th, 2010, 7:08pm I like the direction of your #1 pick but in a perfect world....lose the green ring entirely, rely more on the sunburst pattern, use the font from entries 71 and 77 but not italicized and DEFINITELY not gold, I like the bigger ears as in the #1 pick but can we do less clean? less bubble cartoon? does that make sense? Like the difference in animation between the original strawberry shortcake and the one on tv now. Also, different flowers, maybe wild flowers? something more multi colored and (mexican?) folk arty looking. I like it very much but right now it smells like cherry lipgloss when it should smell like sandalwood, mole and fresh cut grass. "
Some of what she refers to, I asked from you specifly so I hope this isn't confusing, remember she was writing to me....I'll be out of touch till Sunday night or Monday...enjoy your weekend, Valerie
May we see entry #89 AND #69 with a font like the one in entry #20 and without the horizon-like line in it? And entry #89 with the flowers of # 69? And maybe play with some orange and purple.
Hello Ron, I'm really liking the design. May I see #96 with maybe teal lettering? The font is great, what is it called? May I see #100 in black stamp style? Keep the rays thin, so the llama doesn't look like a lion :) Thanks, Valerie
Ron, CONGRATULATIONS!! I love this design! It looks like a beautiful old cigar band (that's a good thing! :)) Yes, I'd like to see the font in one color, but with the "shine" through it. # 94 questions...1. As a designer, what coloring would you like on this logo? This is important to me. 2. What is the name of the font, so I can use it on signs in the shop? 3. If I want to use another entry on sale signs in the shop, how much would you charge me? reference entry # 88 Beautiful! We appreciate all of your work very much. Thank you, Valerie, Kendal, and Mikelle P.S. we don't have a shop yet, but we hope to.
OK... one last thing, :):) may I see #107 with the flowers in orange? I found the raphael font, unfortunately, all the letters in Omamalama are very plain, hmmm, maybe not...go ahead and try it. once you do this with teal and orange.. tell me if you think it is too dark, or too hard to read. thank you, you're awesome , Valerie
Hi, Well I've done it a bit lighter but not to much. In my opinion, the orange as it is a brighter colour it's working better with a simple font cause its gonna jump out of the screen, and when there is a rather ornamental font, it's hard to read. The previous version I think it was a bit too dark, and started to desapear in the background. This one i think to be the good one, cause it's standing out from the background but dosent jump out. It's easy to read even though its an ornamental typeface (what are not too good for a book because readability) In our case the name as well has many letters what are repeating themselfs and so its fluent. With another long name like this one I'm quite sure it would not work that well. I tried the logo with other fonts at the begining (cuase I didn't really wanted to touch the Jugend) but the one good thing about this font in our case is that its tall, and so it's matting the illustration, plus because its a long name it's not going to be too wide, so it's keeping the graphic more like a "spot". By the way thank you so much for your appreciation. I really enjoyed this contest (as I like most of those which involve illustrations)
Ron, I don't think you saw my last email, I left it on another page. what I need is for you to make the com the same color as omamalama, not teal, then I can approve it. Valerie
