What if the gray "fuzz" around the center "spark" could be even darker toward the center, and fade to white? Can you try some variations on this?

I like this. Perhaps you can try some versions of it where it incorporates a shield to convey the idea of security. Exploration and Security perhaps would be two ideas communicated.
