#1 a good start. Fastpitch is played with a yellow ball. A white ball makes the logo look old. The game used to be played with a white ball. Maybe use Vegas gold for the ball. I like the dynamic feel the ball creates, but the logo feels boxy - can't put my finger on it, it just doesn't grab me. Maybe include the state in the logo?

I like this. very dynamic and 3 dimensional. The softball doesn't look exactly right. try a more side view where only one seam shows?
