Hi! My entry features a modernized/minimalized maple leaf in red plaid to portray a modern, rugged Canadian vibe. The bottom quarter of the leaf is solid brown - hinting at having galoshes on! It could easily be produced as a single color mark. The maple leaf could be diecut (with the drop cut out) and used as a memorable tag for packaging.
Hi Josh, I really like what you have submitted. Maybe the font can be bolder and more in your face? Similar to the porsche logo. Also, is it possible to show me where and how you envision my slogan fitting into this?
Thank you and looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
And, please make background white or transparent as the logo will need to be used on business cards, rubber shoes, paper boxes, and bags. It needs to be easily placable.
regarding the background, the logo file is transparent. I like to set my logos on a slight gradation for presentation and for a more accurate "printed" appearance (I feel it presents the logo in more realistic lighting) I'll make sure to have my future submissions on solid white for comparison, though
Here are revisions based on feedback. I have a couple type options that are a little more visible and san serif (similar to the porsche logo). I've also included a variation that shows black on dark grey - a minor simulation of how it would look stamped into the rubber. With your logo in particular, I would expect that you will be utilizing the single color with limited application as well, correct?
Any other needs I can address, please let me know. :) thank you josh
#10 is like the initial #1 entry, except the bottom part is black (there is still brown in the plaid, though - wasn't sure if you wanted to keep that brown for contrast to the black...sometimes the internet is hard!!)
#9 is the newer font with tagline added.
Any logos you'd like me to remove to "un-clutter", just let me know and I can withdraw them.
Entry 18 is cool but the thing in the leaf looks a little to much like a cone. Can we make that specific thing a bit less intense and have it blend more? Also have it look more like a raindrop maybe?
I was actually working on this last night/this morning! It's a raindrop making an abstract maple leaf. Any thoughts/feedback is definitely appreciated.

Yes I do. I like both. Maybe for the most recent one you did, you can make the leaf more visible and the big drop a smaller one? That way there are two types of leafs?
Yes - that was sort of the intent with minimalized leaf...I thought the star could help make it more "iconic". I'll work on some different leaf shapes and have more up soon.
Here are some more concepts I had in my sketchbook.
#19 uses the more traditional Canadian maple leaf #20 a boot print (although I swapped out the previous leaf with the revised leaf) #21 is a straightforward combination of the leaf and raindrop
I really liked where you were going with #18 and its leaf/drop combo. Just need to see more of leaf and have drop incorporated in it rather than it being the only thing you see really.
Sounds good - I'll work on something more leaning towards a leaf with raindrop elements, rather than the other way around. I hope to have something to look at later this afternoon :)
no problem at all - I love comments. It's MUCH better to have a client that comments than one that leaves ya guessing! If you do want me to remove them, just let me know (if it gets to be too much clutter or you rule a direction out completely, etc.) :)
Here are some more variations. A new leaf from a large splash and smaller drop, as well as a variations with a "barrier" showing the water being repelled.
I tried focusing more on the leaf and less on the splash-as-leaf, but due to the freeform shape of a a splash, it wasn't really recognizable unless made to look VERY obvious. It just looked like a ragged leaf edge. I'll definitely keep trying if you want me to continue to pursue. I've only spent part of this afternoon on it and we have plenty more time. :)
Just so you see where my head is at. So far my favorites are 18 and 23. Maybe the next ones you post are a combination of them? or those but in different styles?
Look forward to continue working with you and seeing more options. As you said, we do have plenty of time.
You have by far been giving me the best ones. So please keep them coming focusing on the shoe logo you made, and looking at the 4 seasons logo for inspiration when looking at making a leaf one. If the leaf can incorporate signs of bad weather in an abstract way that could be cool. Color is less important to me than innovative and abstract.
My boys decided to play outside, so I was able to put together a few new ideas real quick.
#50 Furthers the boot idea. The print shows repelled mud/water with the "sole" of the boot being Canadian. #51 Depicts the stylized star leaf with mud/rain/snow above the "galoshed" bottom half of the leaf.
I much prefer the first shoe you made me. I didn't mean fully steer away from it, but maybe do certain changes to give some options.
As for the one you made with the symbols within the leaf, that is the idea, but maybe you can look at the four seasons logo online to see how they blend it in. I find it subtle and tasteful.
What do you think about a "ship at sea" type of design to create a feeling of actually weathering a storm? Sort of a visual metaphor for your galoshes being able to withstand weather?
I was not crazy about the ship at sea. Lets focus on coming up with variations for the boot one (which is still my favorite out of any logo), and the leaf with seasons that resembles that of the four seasons logo.
I was thinking a little more about water/storm-proof things and thought of a duck. It's feet go on land and water - so it fits really well with galoshes!
Can we focus on Entry #20. That is my favorite. The other ones I am not too fond of. I seem to keep going back to #20.
Maybe you can make the shoe in a different color? Make one in lime green and keep the writing in black? After all, I am satisfying the Canadian feel by having the maple leaf in it.
