My suggestions for this logotype revolve around the concept of the interaction of the inmate with a large –friendly- dog (this is actually my Caucasian Shepherd dog). I believe that the large dog brings masculinity in the picture and the idea on an inmate taking care of a large wild dog would appear more committing. I have used the green colour as suggested, but also I make my own proposal. I propose a gradient that contains a dark purple and red, because these are colours connected to nobility and intelligence, but also because of they look quite American as a co9mbination in my opinion. I have used three types of fonts. 1. The very loose one in the wide logo (no12) is supposed to remind of a leash and connect the two characters. 2. The Square Bold one (no 8) is supposed to be more serious. 3. The calligraphic one (no 6) is meant to be more “gentle” and “polite”
#7 - I like the green background and the dark purple - I really don't want to go to a third color. My concerns are that this type of dog does not typically show up at a city shelter - there are more mixed breed, short hair dogs. Also the program will be expanding to include female prisoners and juvenile offenders so having the silhouette of a man will limit us. This needs the tagline "Improving the life of inmates and saving the lives of dogs". USA is too large - that is the least important element of this logo.
Thank you for the feedback. I have a small mixed breed dog that I can photograph at this pose, and I can add a female siluette in this design as well. Using 2 colors will not be a problem. I will make the changes and upload an update. Have a nice day
