My submission for your review. The stylized tree represents several ideas. The main idea is growth and renew. The smaller triangle represents the drive and determination and forces in which we must over come or rather understand and how to effectively use those obstacles to unleash our potential
the stylized flower represents unison and harmony. each petal represents an individual joined in harmony with his/her neighbour to create a new/global unison
since you are located in the Maritimes the sea is an integral part of who you are. the concept brings teh strength and hidden beauty of the sea joining with land each need each other. A hidden meaning is "the sun" the circle also represents the sun that invigorates and sustains.
Hi Scott! Thanks for your designs. We are going to be reviewing the submissions by committee over the next few days and so we are happy to include yours amongst those being considered. I wonder if you could submit some different color combinations -- colors a bit brighter, vibrant, less earthy? We particularly like #230 and #231. All the best, Saskia
Hi Scott, I am so pleased that you resubmitted a new entry. I actually missed the old ones and looked for them again recently. We often refer to the New Earth Institute as the NEI so this is very appropriate. I wonder if you could try replacing the flower (which we love, btw) in #410 with a small zen circle (see: http://www.google.ca/images?client=safari&rls=en&q=zen%20circle&oe=UTF-8&redir_esc=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi). This would possibly bring all of the elements we are after together in your unique image. I would also love to see #410 with a different textual alignment -- not sure what, but maybe 'new earth' in one line and 'institute' in the second? Finally, can we see a black and white version (we need to see what it would look like in B&W) and can you try adding a reflection in the color versions? I really appreciate your persistence and creativity! Best wishes from the east! Saskia
Beautiful! Thank you for this. I look forward to seeing the globe mockup in better detail. If possible, I would still like to see some take on the zen circle in this spot, though... as well, I mean. Did you get that link I sent to you? I have asked this of most of the designers who have submitted entries and so it is not something that you have to worry about using in your unique design. Thanks!
Thanks Scott! Makes sense. This gives me a great idea. A couple of suggestions: - Can you change #410 to a 4 petaled flower (still my fav). - Can you make the zen circles in #423-#431 smaller and less 'snake' like (w/ bulbous head). Something a bit more sleek/subtle? S.
Great! Thank you. Now, can you use the #410 format and add the zen circle, but draw it in such a way that there remains an area of the circle open slightly. The idea is that empty space penetrates the form. You can see samples if you search "zen circle" on google images. Also, can we see #421 design (w/ earth) in the #410 format?
I've re-introduced the meeting of land and sea..I've always been drawn to the sea and I feel it's an important element to enaunce the sen and fluidity of networking
Hi! Thanks for your new submissions. We are under final review now w/ a bunch of people. I will be in touch... Would love to see your design w/ zen circle and New Earth Institute in one line again?

Hey there. Thanks for your incredible work! Here's the thing. #410 w/ variation #453 are really well loved by our core team. But, we are not totally sold on the image (the flower or the circle or the globe). I am not sure what to suggest, but none of these images really works well in this design. I wonder if you have other ideas? This is very last minute, but maybe you have something up your sleeve. I would love to see it if you do. S.
I've been holding out because of last minute entries copying designs...the inspiration came from zen gardens either large or table top...the design is based on 3's...I've done mock ups on Tee's and the icon looks absolutely sensational...
(This comment references Entry #494)
a wee bit of distortion to the rings giving of a more hand drawn touch
(This comment references Entry #495)
each element broken down represent Mind, body and spirit
each element as a whole wave, rings and flower, represent Mind, body and spirit
the over all design is 3 element which represent mind body and spirit
Wow, Scott. This is great. I am going to bed and will check again early in the morning. I appreciate how much work you are putting into this!
W/ #410, can you try 2 lines and/or spread the three words ever so slightly? Not a full space, but just a little bit. I like it all on one line, but some people find it hard to read. Not sure which variation we would go with (3, 4, 8 petals), but great design. I like the alternative format as well (as in #453).
I love the new ones (#494, #513, #512) also. It's going to be tough to arrive at a final decision w/ this contest. We have had so many entries from great designers!!!
