I worked on a couple of designs that fit perfectly into the web 2.0 concept, are techincal but still suggest entertainment. Waiting for feedback.

Like how you spilt up the colors in the logo - but since Rev stands for revenue - probably shouldn't be in red. How about green incorporated for Rev

These designs are modern, clean, memorable and legible. respectiv the web 2.0 coordinates.
The symbols used strongly suggest media industry and the colors create a familiar feeling for the customer.

i used only wordmarks which, like you suggested in your description, are in coordonance with web 2.0 which is a style that doesn't use symbols...only the stylized name. I would very much like your feedback so I can know where to go from here.

I've opted for the mesh of the network sphere, a logo where u can see inside the sphere and also the connections on the other side, just like the reference you gave us.
