#6 Like the design its very echser esc. We kind of wonder if thickening the red green and grey block walls would look better. not sure if you would lose your effect if you thicken it.

#7 we like the light effect from the front. The grey on the top makes it look too complex and washed out.

Please check the spelling. Its Nebility, not Netbility

I was wondering what do you mean by thickening the red, green and gray cubes?

With reference to #6 we realize that the red, green and grey boxes are actually boxes weith white tops but they look like folded paper on a quick glance. we were wondering how it would look if the looked like thicker L shapes more like the covered blue boxes do, if that makes sense.

For #8 we like this (Actually we like all of your designs so far). We were wondering if it could be rotated clockwise around the vertical access and made to look a bit more like an "N". We also like the graduated shading on the font

#9 I like this as well but can't help feeling I have seen a similar logo somewhere before. May or may not be an issue with brand recognition.

Please submit #6 and #7 with corrected spelling so I can rank them appropriately and discard the ones with spelling errors. Thanks

The newer color version of the cubes with reflection looks better but the tops are still silver grey, can you make the tops look translucent?

8 - We would like to see
A. We would like the icon rotated clockwise slightly so that the blue item in the back was less prominent and one of the N face's more facing forward

B. Can we use a warmer color for the silver, maybe a translucent orange or gold?

27 - We will try to explain what we want here
A. Change this to a two color representation, warm/blue vs. the multi color
B. More transparency in the blocks (blue illuminated ice. vs. blue shading)
C. The structure itself is very interesting but the colored sections look 2d vs. the others looking 3d (hope that makes sense)

29 - Better, but we think maybe this is too busy and you should work on the other efforts instead, unless you have a way of simplifying this

Thanks for all of your effort!

Updates are on the way.
As for #8, i have manually crafted the 3D design - means i haven't used any tools to obtain that effect - thus, to remake the whole scene will imply two things:
1 The whole perspective and balance will be lost
2 I will have to manually re-build the entire design using a different angle, and again from a geometric point of view, the design will be lost.

Will follow some updates although i see you have changed the rankings and the design direction. My question is: do you want something unique or something that anyone can have: like a Facebook type of icon, simplistic approach?

We do want something unique and really like a number of your designs. We ranked the current leader based on the fact that it brings out the N which works for our company name and also for our main product which also starts with an N. That said we realize its a bit simple and would like to see some of the other leading design incorporate our suggestions which might change the ranking. For example we really think #8 has potential if we could pull out an N in it through color or minor design change. We really like your use of 3d effects on it and the blocks. We also feel it could work as both a logo and as a software icon, etc so potential is good and it is definitely more unique which is also preferred.

I understand, but in 10 years of logo design i am really tired to sell letter icons.
If you consider that original then it's your choice.

#82 - Interesting, can you

A. Make the silver a warmer color
B. Drop the shadow
C. Add some translucency (see the main pages general comments for an idea of what I mean on shutter stock)

You know that transparencies won't print very well at all levels and backgrounds, right?

Client
I realize for print we might loose that effect from what I have seen it looks ok on print the effect is just no there, are you saying that it makes the print version bad, or just not he same?

The one you just did (87) is interesting, you could try a warmer color than silver on it please

Thanks

Entry - 89 this is looking good but the orange on the globe is mergin with orange on the N

Using transparencies in logos will always make problems when printing and unless you use a flattened version of the logo.
Imagine that you want o put the logo with transparencies on a dark background, that shine and nice looking transparency will be lost.
Of course, there are cases when you really can translate very well the logo, but those are rare and requires more technical fireworks behind the curtain ;)

I have some updates as well and submit them soon.

Ok thanks, also really like the way you did N in 83 (the shape and the way the tails wrap around behind) but prefer a more 3d'ish execution like you have in your other submissions

Also as per the general comment on the front page the winner will most likely receive additional work to do thematic work for Business Cards, Power Point Templates, and some Web components etc.

117 - Better, but still merges a bit too much, can we maybe see a version with the sphere all blue, but I do like the alternating colors on the side walls of the N

In case you were wondering how this logo could work in flat monochrome color.

Thanks for the mono - we put it in the discarded pile but appreciate the effort, just trying to keep the workspace clean not a indication that we reject the concept at all

A. We like the orange N in 119 better than 120, but I would like to see a version of 119 that has the edges of the N in blue like you have them in 120, we will move 120 into the discarded area

B. 118 - we still really like the two tone globe but still feel the N does not de-merge enough we though one thing that might help is making the upper edge of the N blue like you did in 120

83 - we still like this rendering but would prefer it be morphed into a more 3d representation like you have done with 118 & 119

When the design crowd is lead to mediocrity, the results will always attract similarities.
Originality and uniqueness is hard to be observed among those.
Like you are looking in a candy store for the best chocolate...but how?....They are all sweet!

It's hard to be original these days, but harder to identify something original.
