Thanks for the entries. Of the two we like #5 better. We like the swirl but think this rendition is a bit too busy and makes the drawing seem low res. We also like the two tone colors in the name but think these specific colors make the light green get a bit lost.

We like this color contrast better. still really like the way you are doing the text better than the other plain text designs. For the image though, we feel this on looks a bit flat and we would prefer something with a more 3d feel.

For the ranking we like the text on #10 better and the 3d aspect of the image on #5 better. A combination of the two would be better still.

Thank you for the feedback. I know I can make something you'll love.

The 3d version is still a bit too busy and we would like to see some translucency

Like the way you have rendered the name though, we left the other one up because we like the idea of "motion" that it implies, adding some form of that to the 3d version along with other suggestions would work better

Also I would prefer a warm/cool combination vs. the green/blue which seems a bit too harmonious, but the overall blue is good

#30 We like the orange better than the green for the periods but we think the blocks for the periods are not working for us. Overall we just think this image is too busy still. You may want to simplify it down a lot or try a different image style altogether. We are mixed on this darker font over the previous slightly lighter one. Both are god and will be tough to choose between.

Thank you for the fast feedback. I'll be working on it soon.

On your last entry (49) this is interesting

I think what might work better is if you turn the cube so the N was a bit more forward facing, then make the surrounding block out of "ice" or maybe ice cubes with some space between them, also I think the color of the N might be a bit better if it were closer to the current top entry (N word mark currently at position one)

#51 - going in the right direction

I don't think the N should be translucent, just the blocks
The N's color is too dark
The Blocks color is too dark as well

Goto Shutterstock and take a look at these links - here are some examples for the blue transparencies (ignore shape and reflections etc) but it is what we are looking for ---

Hey Kent

The latest (255) looks much better but it's not really what I had in mind, not your fault I cant seem to communicate this well

The diagram I did was limited because I am using MS paint and the pen tool, so it's free hand and I have no skills obviously.

1. The gold part needs to be made more like an N shape, couple of ways that seem to make this happen you can move the connecting bar from its current corner to corner position up or down along sides and then "bend" the connecting bar. This would overlap the other two blocks most likely so something would have to be done about that (thought was to shrink and "merge" them, but that might not work"

2. About have the thickness, yours look coffin shape vs. cube shape, of course maybe this would work with other changes I don't know

3. Blue needs to be lighter and both need more inner glow

4. Font more 3d

I like the nebula effect you found (or added) pretty cool

It's a good try but since I am the internal designer seem to be the only ones that are "visualizing" the product and we can't communicate it well not sure the other players will go for it, just an FYI because I think this design is a long shot unless you can luck into what is in our heads.

Major points for trying!

Couple of other thoughts, font (word) more 3d effect, as we have directed a few participants to do

Looking at entry 255, if you slightly moved the gold upper block down, and the gold lower block up leaving the connecting bar in place then turned the whole structure so it faced a bit more forward that is "kind of" the effect of making it look more like an N, this will of course "embed" the blue blocks, cant figure out a way to make that work in words ...

Other comments above of course still apply

Entry 265

Gold Block - Proportions, perfect, and I like the inner glow color etc.
Blue Block - Maybe a little lighter

Overall 265 didn't work out, but it gave me a easier to implement idea ( I think )

Modify 255 to use the colors/tones and block proportions of 265, keep the shape of 255 ( other than more cubed blocks ) but make it more front facing like you did in 265

Now the change: on the newer 255 version use internal shafts of light to form an interior N within the 4 blocks, this should be a light path (with no hard edges) that illuminates the interior, I think that might be enough to subtly reinforce the N impression and look pretty cool

Looks pretty good but I think the light shafts need to be a little more dispersed and not so obvious, you might have to make the light in the blue blocks a little brighter to compensate for the cooler tone, or lighten the blocks themselves

Also the spectral highlight outlines (I am speaking of the whjite'ish outlines on the face of the blocks) are a little too much and need to be toned down a bit

Moving in the right direction

Also in addendum to above

A. Whole structure still needs to be turned a bit to face slight more forward
B. Move Nebility word down a bit and maybe apply an outline for a 3d effect as well

Not sure if your done yet or not but will comment on 275

Still think the interior light needs some work, looks better more diffuse but that coupled with turning it more forward has caused the light to fall off in-between the blocks and at the edges of the blocks.

We think the swirls withing the blocks are now getting distracting with all the other modifications. Probable just use some points of light or somehow simplify the nebula effect to lesson the distraction.

Font - maybe add a drop shadow and make the points in the i's an orange

If we can get this to work I will move you up a notch, another observer is starting to be won over from another design, so it's all going in the right direction

Thanks for the hard word!

Ok great, also see the attachment on the briefing page "N Block PNG.png" which outlines some of the issues still remaining.

This looks to have a lot of potential just haven't hit the right combination yet, wish we would have started with this way back ...

Thanks

Ok ,also see a way to make the n more pronounced- "Reduced N" also added to the contest briefing page, would be in lieu of the light shaft I think, other items would still apply
