I really like entry #2 - #1 is straightforward - the sprinkles coming out of the spoon are clever - but it's a bit more "literal" than I like - #2 has the quality of movement - energy - something building - thank you
I made comments on the general brief, inappropriately, but I want to share them with you here - I'm thinking that the magic dust needs to be graded back, shaded out - or something so it's not so dominant. I also like the color treatment in #10 but would want it to get to a deeper purple as it either moved through the letters or more and purple would be in different shades (prolly w/the purple being deeper in the actual word "purple" )
Also, entry #1 - I like the way the sparkles are grouped but wonder how it could be done without it coming out of something ( the circle and the spoon)
I know how much work goes into these and don't expect you to submit anything more - just wanted you to know where my head was.
I realize I just changed rankings - I think I need to sleep on it a bit - the little sparkles are starting to feel too "loose" - thank you for adding the additional entries - no further suggestions at the moment... :D Sam
okay - one last iteration - can you shape the "sparkles" into the wave that is showing on my twitter background - just wondering what that'll look like...
Hi, Gosh this is so painful - knowing that each of you have worked with me and put so much effort into your designs - at the moment - I'm leaning towards a less "magical" interpretation of the business/site - but I haven't ruled it out - thank you again for your effort - and creativity - and responsiveness - :D Sam
Hi Sam Here, I have 'hidden' the spoon in the O giving a better point of origin to the purple particles, heading away from magical to more businesslike, but without losing the unique purple energy... Karen
I like the thumbprint - a couple of things - the shade of purple isn't my favorite - I like the lavendar and darker purple better - also - is there a way to add more depth to the lines within the thumbprint - clever - works with the whole concept of the 'self' - if we could give it a bit more depth
also, what would the chartreuse green look like wrapped around the thumbprint - in a "fuzzy" line or just as a border... thank you for continuing to think about more purple and submitting new thoughts - I really can't believe a contest like this exists - it's a huge win for me - but I see it's lots of work for you ... :D Sam
LT is a huge win for everyone. I do it to keep my design skills fresh, and, of course, to win ... but it is the client who is the real winner, we have so much talent here as you have seen. There are SO many colors of purple... do you have a PMS or RGB color # you really like? This site might help... it would certainly help me to know exactly what color(s) you like, by #. http://www.cal-print.com/InkColorChart.htm karen
I thought it was interesting - the thumbprints overall has really interesting implications - I cant make more suggestions other than it just feels a bit thick and the color doesn't quite have the comp,Edith that makes my mouth water - this is quite a process - moving further from magic symbolism and more towards the true nature of the work - thank you so much for continuing to work with me
The green ring around the outside doesn't look chartreuse -I still need to get the exact colors off of the web site - & get them for you - I like the "shiny" finish to your design - thank you for continuing to contemplate my project -
wow, that is so kind of you. I loved your contest. I do have a paypal account, dotwoman@mac.com I really tried hard and so wanted to win! and I am still up for trying more if you have not 100% decided on the winner. karen
