Here are some of my proposals. Instead of creating a separate icon / typography combination, I've created an all encompassing logo / unit. One that can be used for additional elements just as branding stamps, watermarks, shirt badges/embroidery etc.
I've started in its simplest form, monotone ... I've always been a believer if it works in this, it will work in colour. And also shows that it can work for things like newspaper print etc.
The logos are 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,
It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say. I look forward to your comments or thoughts.
Hello, I like entry number 10 but I'm worried that there are too many intricate details that will not translate to a leather embossing. Please also consider positive and negative space as embossing will be the primary use. I like the anchor as part of the logo on 10 and 11 but prefer the more generic looking anchor of 11. A cleaned up version of 12 would be great for a corporate logo but I'm looking more for an emblem.
26: I like the text on the outside of the central emblem, maybe an outer ring that helps pull everything together. I'm not too sure if repeating the name is the best option, maybe using the larger text form 25. Is it also possible to work on the anchor to give it a little more detail, maybe take a look at the anchor in the design brief... possible adding a rope or making it look more hand drawn.
Thanks for the additional feedback. Unfortunately I can't see any anchor reference in the brief? However that said, what I've done with mine is create it so it looks like its made from rope.
Here are a few new variations;
#46 - as per #26 but will text from #25. Anchor made from rope #47 - as per above, using rope on the outside #48 - variations of above #49 - variations of above #50 - variations of above #51 - variations of above
Sorry for the delay, I was called away on family business so was away from my machine :) Here are a few new variations, hope you like them and look forward to your thoughts.
