#20 and #19 are great.... This the first time I'm doing this so I'm not sure if this is appropriate to ask... To combine #1 idea of a red circle and a white M with the company name in the middle of the M.
I really like 23, but realized that it will work very well as a watermark on images, but not as a logo on a website. I really like the stylized M with the red dot, could you move MiKSMedia Photography to the right side of the dot, so it fits with the red dot?
The last design is very nice. The shadow under the red ball looks nice on white background, but that won't translate into a picture watermark, so let's skip the shadows :) Don't you think the red dot over powers the company name a bit?
the red dot with stylized M is your brand id ...its what people will associate with your company, like an apple for the apple company or thums up icon for the soft drink company thumsup...
you can use just the dot m as watermark with or without the company name too.
the whole idea of the logo is to capture in brains of the people an icon they can easily relate with your company.
as for the shadow in #42 u can keep it in the logo(to it give it a more alive/3d look) and remove it for printing or watermarking as that's what usually people do since it won't effect the overall design .
forgot to mention the red dot icons are so designed so that they can easily be converted to greyscale for watermarking your image ...it would be particularly useful for the entries #44 & #43 as there are 2 letters in it hence won't looked jumbled up on converting and would serve all your purposes.
in #44 could you use a more elegant/classic font? Right now the font is modern sans serif. Maybe have the word "photography" spaced out evenly under the company name?
plz see 75,76 77...the reason i used serif font is they are classic fonts and they tend to mean business and not take focus away from the icon(brand id). i used different fonts in these 3 entries... do let me know what u think of them ....if there is any particular font u like even if its in logo and you donno its name just point it to me
IN #105 i put all miks the part of m and k thats common i made that as i and i used letter s and flipped it to create the k since it actually mac Sokulski and kasia Sokulski. do let me know what you think.
IN 113 I the logo like a stamp so that the icon and the company both are present everywhere even while watermarking photos...do let me know what you think so i can modify accordingly
I still like the #77 the best. I like the stamp idea, but that would work as a watermark, and not really on the web. I like the coloured letters too, but they are the wrong letters.... if anything it would be the first M.... BTW there is nothing wrong with the design. I'm just moving things about... just to see better :) It's going to be a tough choice.
with shine and shadow as in #117 it can be used as a classic logo ... if u ever make an animation for the logo in future for your website or tv/media ads it would turn out beautifully...e.g circle and letters fly into place first then the shine makes the letters and the MK within the dot get revealed. or u could simply make the shine glow to give its sharp metallic touch at the same time without the shadow and shine as in #115 it can be used for watermarking
I agree, I used to have a stamp I created myself a long time ago, but I found that on the website the company name was too small. Like on this image: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cptpoland/2153850642/in/set-72157603943638578 I'm not trying to compare your design to mine, because there is no comparison. Just that I'm not sure about the stamp :)
in the link u gave the icon is deep red hence it not standing out also for watermarking its always better to use greyscale version of the logo like #120 or #121 and reduce its opacity to around 70% i kept the initials mk in white so that inspite of reducing opacity its still in focus.also i would make the logo slightly bigger for the purpose than u have in the link, so that it does grab attention but doesn't dominate the image.
I do understand the stamp idea, and I like it. Now when it's regarding the my website, I'm just having a problems placing it. If you can answer this please do http://www.miksmedia.net.
I have discussed this with my wife, and the stamp idea, is not what she wants. So we have to go back to the original idea of a red circle and the company name beside it.
#142 #143 in different font. i don't think we should try anything with more flourish than in #135 as it would make it all circle and the initials would loose their impact get kind lost in the curls.
Yes I agree... more flourish means less impact... the new font didn't work very well... I really like the logo.... I'm feeling that it's missing something... I just don't know what it is....
#154 with the slightly different shade in the circle to give it a fuller look.....
i don't see anything missing in it since letters are beautiful ,m and k are connected with common line showing 2 different people as 1 you know 2 bodies 1 soul thing. the i "polish" is touched by the spark ...the k part made out of 2 S for the surname one straight other mirror hidden meaning being both people are reflection of each other.
honestly i think this logo is among one of the best i have made so far with meaning to it.
There is still a couple of things I would like to refine, if that's ok with you. The K. A little less swirls, like in #139. Also could you make the company name bigger to balance the size of the logo...
i tried different some more modifications so that K is not squishy plz see Entry #163 ,#164 #165 ...lets just get the K swirl thing right then i will upload a version of it with red line for u ...is that ok?
