Because your compass is included in the short design so everyone will use it including me but map markers have been used by designers since the blind phase (I see there are 2 designers using it), so when the final round the design is opened (all contestants know their ideas) maybe you also know about it, because you have launched several contests on this site, because I have been warned about the same problem like this.

I'll try to make the M fit into the logo in another form.

How about using the marking and putting an “M”? That is different and unique

Other contestants have added compasses, as I originally had requested. That didn’t seem to be an issue.

Can you still not change?

No worries on the time difference. They do not own the copyrights on that marker logo. We are asking you to incorporate it in a much different way.

Sorry for the time difference so I'm late in responding to you, sorry for that I can't do that because if I do it is a violation of the LT contest rules (not allowed by the site). because there are other designers who have used map markers in their logo designs.

Can we also have one where the dot in the marker is an "M" instead?

We are close! Any chance you could change the dot to a map marker with a circle at the bottom (similar to a ripple).
