I hope your having a good start to the week so far?
Here is one of my proposals. Instead of creating a separate icon / typography combination, I've created an all encompassing logo / unit. One that can be used for additional elements just as watermarks and favicons.
The logo is 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,
It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say. I look forward to your comments or thoughts.
Can see where you're going with this for both #4 and #5 - wondering if you can introduce a snowboard shape (perhaps the plaque that the word snowboarding is imposed on? or the letters themselves?? ) - and what if your overall oval shape was more of an abstract mountain peak to get that outdoors feel??
Thanks for the great feedback and direction, always appreciated!
And here are those revisions ...
#14 - as per the original, but snowboard shape added and also a mountain range #15 - as per above, however I made the top area in a mountain range #16 - as per above, just changing the colours around #17 - and evolving the above to make the top mountains better and added in pine trees below
For the time being I've removed the "grungy" coating the first ones had, purely to focus on the elements within the design.
Nice update Angus - I wouldn't mind seeing some colour options of the same designs as well. Not sure which one I prefer at the moment. They sort of remind me of the 1920's 1930's Canadian Pacific poster feel which is where I think the feeling of age is coming from, but if you'd like to try any other ideas around how to get the "age" feel, please just throw them out there.
Thanks for the feedback! And not a problem re the colour, let me work on that.
From my thinking, RE the age factor - this style of logo is also now seen as a "vintage" style of logo i.e. almost stamp like and all encompassing, rather than glossy web 2.0 with a separate icon and separate text.
Hopefully you saw my earlier comment about the age and the design?
Here are a couple of colour combinations! I took the top two designs and coloured those (the one in third is as per the second just with a dark top half).
And then for #21 I've brought in a couch ... And my thinking for this was comfort! I know my retired parents like their comfort! Even if they are doing things, its got to be comfortable :)
Thx for the update - I'll take a look. The couch is funny - nice bit of cheekiness there. I've asked a few friends to take a look and rank as well so I'll see what they think over the next 24 hrs.
#25 - nice idea, doesn't quite work for me at the moment, but I'm note sure quite why - sorry!!
Hi Angus
#21 and #15 - I can't decide if I prefer one over the other or if it's a combination of the two - example on #15 I can't make up my mind if it's better with the forest or the mountain at the bottom of the logo. #21 - could the Over 50s text on the couch be a little more prominent?
One question - I'm thinking of putting this logo on the back of a jacket - it'll need to scale to something like 10" x 12" - will that work?
To answer your query - all my logos are 100% vector, which means they will be able to scale to any size without loss of quality ... even to billboard size! So no worries there :)
I've worked up a couple of variations for you;
#37 - here I've made the "over 50's" bigger and used trees at the bottom #38 - as per above but using the mountain range at the bottom #39 - original #15 just with a bigger "over 50's" #40 - as per above with trees #41 - a new version where I've used the couch for "club" underneath #42 - as per above with trees #43 - as per above just a bigger couch
If you'd like to see any other variations don't hesitate to ask.
Would be a pleasure. Here they are - #67 and #68. I think personally I prefer #68. The sun sits better and feels better just off centre rather than to the left.
