Hi, here is my first entry for your consideration. I've used negative space in the Y to imply the shape of a diamond. Very subtle and classic. Thanks.

Here's another idea. I'm not sure that you mentioned it, but "MeyerStones" of course makes me think of milestones, which diamonds often mark in the lives of a couple. I think of a milestone in terms of a timeline. So this design uses the same negative space implication of a diamond shape cut from a line, representing a timeline in a couple's life. Thanks.

Here's a custom lettermark representing a diamond ring. Thanks.

Same as the last one, but the lettermark is a little thinner.

Same as my first entry, but using the negative space of the M instead.

OK, one more! Here's another lettermark with the diamond over the M, again using negative space, but this time the M is in the negative. I'd love to have your feedback on my ideas. I'm happy to fine tune them with your guidance! Thanks.

Can we please see more variations of #17?

Please try to add the slogan "put a diamond in her life" below to see if that works as well.

You have talent.

Hi Josh. Wow! I'm not sure I've ever received such quick feedback. Thank you.

Here's a version with the tagline. Are you interested in variations with regard to the fonts and colors, or do you want to see variations on the icon itself? Or both? I'll step away from it for a little bit and work on variations with a fresh mind.

Lindsay,

Can we see the MeyerStones all the same size font to see what it looks like?

Also, should we try some different style fonts for both MeyerStones and the tag line?

Any new thoughts?

Thank you for working on my logo.

Hi Josh, here are a few variations for you. I'm experimenting with fonts and with color schemes. A gold/yellow seems to fit, and I'm not sure if you're stuck to blue hues or not.

Lindsay,

Your number one is hanging in there so far.

We like the black background with white lettering and blue slogan the best.

Can you now try some different types of diamond designs above? We like the one you have showing a ring from a side angle but want to see a few more ideas from that same angle.

Its cool you are from the US. Where are you from. Can we contract with you on other jobs?

Thanks,

Larry

Hi Larry and Josh, here are some additional designs for your consideration. You asked for options relating to the side view -- do you still want the M shape in the ring? Here are some designs with a more ornate ring design -- one showing the M shape, one without it. I also played around with a princess cut shape, but it's fairly generic. I think what's great about the one you currently have ranked first -- if I do say so myself -- is that it communicates diamonds and incorporates the M in Meyer, which helps make it more memorable. Being memorable is key to a good logo. That said, simplicity is also key, so I hesitate to go too much more ornate than I have here. I'm hoping you can provide some more specific feedback, like whether or not you like the M shape and if you want to see something that looks more like a literal ring as opposed to the somewhat abstract designs I've been working with.

Also, to answer your question, I live in Indianapolis, Indiana, and I do contract work on the side. I have a full time job as a web designer. I'd be happy to talk about what other work you may need to have done once the contest is over. The designer code of conduct prohibits me from talking about it until then. But you're welcome to take a look at my portfolio at http://lindseyborschel.com to get a feel for what I do.

Finally, I want to say how much I love diamonds. I know, who doesn't right? But I didn't know until I got one how much I would love them. I'm blessed with a gorgeous 1 carat round cut solitaire, at E color and VVS1. It's a beaut! It also happens to be slightly fluorescent, so it does amazing things in direct sunlight. My husband is a gemstone junky, which makes me a lucky girl!

Lindsay,

You have worked hard on this and we want to see you win. It doesn't fair that the other guy can take your idea and put a diamond on top.

Can you do the same thing? We are not committed to the M shape on the ring. We just want to show a diamond of some kind. Can you knock his off?

We are going to be selling diamonds to college kids at Baylor while i am in school. I have been in business for myself for many years and really enjoy it.

I will also need two new web sites, one for meyerstones and one for JLM motors that we had a logo contest for last week.

Pulling for you,

Josh

Hi Josh,

I can definitely keep working, and I will continue to play with diamond shapes for you, but I'll move away from the M shape on the ring. Simple diamond designs are open to everyone in the contest, and I don't see a problem with anyone else's designs (from my perspective), in terms of infringing on my idea. You, of course, are free to see things how you see them! Just want you to know that I'm OK here.

Sounds like you have some exciting website projects. I didn't realize you'd done another contest -- really glad you're having a good experience here (at logotournament)! More designs coming soon...
