hi Lauren I read your comment in the general page maybe some other designer commented to you, but btw...
about the TM: when you select the winner you can ask the designer to send the logo with and without the TM, both versions, is not against the rules of LT... but always after the contest is ended, before is not allowed...
about the clock: I guess that is the countdown... now the contest is active.... in about 3 hours will be in the Top5 period... and just the 5 designers ranked first are allowed to send revisions and updates... but you can change that ranking anytime during that period.... usually are 2 days and after the Judging period... then just the designer ranked first can send updates anyway you can select the winner anytime during the top5 or judging period if you really are sure of the winner
my favorite of your designs is 252. can you please create an alternate design to 252 with the 'compassionate justice' a little bit bigger? I'd also love to see this design in a bright navy blue : )
I also love 250's flair and fun...but I'm not sure if it's professional enough for a law firm. Is there anyway you can make the squiggle into a scales of justice and keep the same coloring?
I've narrowed down the designs to the ones I like the best. #289 and #290 I love. Can you give me a couple of options for different blues in the circle behind the scales? I'm not sure which gradation I like or if maybe just a solid blue? I love the circle and compassionate justice going around.
Thanks for trying a design with scales and squiggle, but #291 isn't going to work.
I'm still drawn to #250 because of the colors of blue and clean backdrop against the white. But, that alone won't work for me.
hi Lauren I sent the variations and some details because sometimes is difficult to see the differences with the little images from LT (LT reduces the sizes, obviously my files are vectorial and bigger)
#311 different gradient, more navy #312 different blue #313 different blue #314 plain color ... similar to #313 #315 plain color ... similar to #312 #317 .. from #312 but without line outside the circle #318 .... without line... solid circle substituting the line and with reversal gradient ... but different gradient (a new one) ... as LT reduces a lot the images is difficult to see... for that I sent the detail in #320....
#319 ... like #31 but with gradient in the text... just trying to see how it looks #321 .. detail of #312 #322 ... detail of #313 #323 ... detail of #289 #324 ... detail of #290
Thank you so much for your hard work and styles! I liked seeing the circle in larger form to see the colors. Thank you for giving me options. I have picked my favorite one (#289).
I like a couple of the other designs a tiny bit better. I think the color in the circle is a little too much from light to dark.
I really like royal/rich blue. I like that 289 has detail and fading effect, but it's a little too much. I'm not trying to criticize, but I do not know exactly how to explain what I would like a little bit better. I think if just a little bit of gradation from dark to light so that there is less range of color? I'm not sure if that makes sense. I think a simpler blue color change?
hi Lauren thanks for the reference... I'll send the update anyway just one alert for you... what you see on the screen are not the "real colors".... LT uses an algorithm to reduce the size and change the colors... some blues seem more purple and viceversa... the best is to use pantone codes... using rgb colors... as I guess that some other designer are using are not valid for printing purposes or other designs... just for screen and websites
as I commented to you... the designs are not purple... are totally blue... but I have not doubt that you see them purple, because the LT reduction and the calibration of the screen
the wheelcolor of the reference is using rgb colors... nice for the screen, but horrible for printing and professional uses... in the screen seem better, but actually are not...
note about the countdown now there ar 4 hours for the top5 designers to send variations after just the designer ranked first can sen variations but you can switch that designer anytime during the judging period and you can select the winner anytime or wait for revisions for some days... that depends on you
oh!! thank you for explaining to me. I was worried that I have to pick now because am in meeting from now until end of day. thank you : )
I'm not sure I understand about the color differences? I see them as purple and aqua.... strange. So the colors I see from other designers aren't the colors that I will see when final?
actually I don't know if they are using rgb or cmyk colors... and I don't to evaluate other designers
but when you see "bright" colors, usually are rgb, not cmyk... just like example, when in one document of Word you mark some text with "marker"... the yellow/green that you can see is a rgb color, just for the screen, brilliant color, but when you print the color is different, printer or biz-card... because that colors are not printable... http://shutha.org/node/815
I'm sorry because I don't want to create any confusion as I see that the other logos are really nice, you can select the logo that you like the most... always is possible to change the color :)
and you are right, you can pick the winner anytime during the judging time... you have hour or days... the right time... but please, not weeks ;-)
thanks to rank my designs so high please don't mind to ask about any change that you wanted to see
but remember that to be allowed to send any variation I need to be ranked first.... during the "judging period" just the designer ranked first is allowed to send variations....
just fyi, during that period you can switch the designer ranked first anytime to ask for variations, and select the winner anytime
So, is there any way for me to see your design in the blue that I want to see with the formatting issues? How can I see it on my screen with the color that I would like to end up with?
hi Lauren I'll try to explain to you, but I don't want to create more confusion
usually the designers make the logos using CMYK colors, that fits for screen and for printing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CMYK_color_model pantone colors use the CMYK model (btw you heard about pantone colors)
when we send the logo to LT the website reduces the quality and change the model to rgb, so... sometimes there are color variations
but if you work with rgb colors http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RGB_color_model the gamma of colors that you can use is bigger, but you can use just for screen and usually you can use "better" colors, more bright
the other point is that depending of the screen or computer you will see the colors in a different way, like if you print your logo with different printers, the result will be different.... for that I can see my colors in a different way that you can see it also, usually when I win a contest, after, I send different versions of the logo, cmyk and rgb, ... depends of the logo
usually after the contest you can "work" with your designer and fine-tune the logo working with better resolution files and other systems to choose the right colors
I don't want to give you the idea that the other designers are using rgb colors... as far as I know, logostudio, fernandobranmager and wolv are fantastic designers, and for sure are using cmyk colors and they will help you with the colors if you have some problem... no doubt about that
sorry if my words just cause more confusion.... I know that are a technical issue and obviously sometimes is difficult to handle
anyway... I see that you are a good CH with a lot of communication, and I have not doubt that with any of the other designers you will get the perfect logo
Despite what you explained, is there any way for me to see your design in the blue that I want? I'm not comfortable picking a logo if it's not in the color that I want to end up with.
Okay, looking at all the color options you've given me, I think I know the perfect mix that I would want---
Can you please do a logo with: For the circle on left - Please use the blue from the top of the circle in #387 for the bottom of the new circle design. For the top of the new circle, please use the color from #367.
And, please use the colors for McCorvie and Law Firm from # 393.
I think combining the colors from each of these will create the perfect logo
thank you. the color of the circle came out very light. I like the color of the words. But, can you please darken the color inside the circle? Perhaps I'm not communicating the color very well because I don't understand the color differences between formats.
I'd like to see something like (in circle) from bottom to top (using names of the blues from the above link): (bottom of circle) dark blue medium blue blue azure or capri (or the color that you used at the top of circle in 367). (top of circle)
Thank you so very much for all your hard work on my logo. After much consideration, I have decided that I like the other designs better. I'm sorry. I really like your design, but I can only pick one. Thank you for your work and your help with understanding the color issue. Good luck in the future. Lauren
