Is the idea for the S diamond yours or another designer's?

Can you remove the lines in the diamond and just do the outline to look something like this? So it almost looks like an S

We've landed on a very similar design. If you look closely the MD logo almost spells "Masina." The large M, the A at the top of where the M and D meet, we just need to turn the diamond logo to look similar to an "S." The I is where bold line where the M and D meet. The N needs to be where the first half of the M and the A again is the top. Can you do something similar to this while keeping the logo open and airy.
