I'd love to see this one tightened up (to make it more obvious about the M and the W) ... you know how it is with logos sometimes ... you need to hit the viewer over the head! [smile]
And some variations in size, color, type (especially the tag).
And anything else you'd propose ... we love your stuff and would like to see some other concepts!
Oh, and I'd suggest you "scale it up" your submissions some also. Because they shows so small on the LogoTournament preview, they're hard to see and (unfortunately, therefore) less appealing.
I really don't know how this "ranking" and "not interested" metaphor is supposed to work.
But, unfortunately, I think it may mislead someone (and that someone could be you or me) into believing a concept is still alive if it's really not. That and Diana and I are trying not to hurt anyone's feelings. So we're probably leaving too much in the "ranked" column.
Remember, this is all new to us so please forgive our blundering.
Here's what I'd like to do and how you should interpret the next round of sorting:
1. If it's ranked, it's still alive and I assume you are working and improving that design along the lines of what we've either publicly or privately commented. I also assume you are generating new concepts because, so far, NO ONE IS WINNING. We are not satisfied with even the leaders (high rankings) ... otherwise we would have ended the contest earlier versus extending it. Make sense?
2. Otherwise, it's in the "not interested" column. Earlier, crcdesigns explained to me how to re-order everything at the end of the contest so as many people as possible get credits, and the leading designs all get ranked in the appropriate order (see above post). Never fear, I will absolutely do that at the END of the contest.
3. But for now anyway, the ranked entries are too clogged and they also aren't putting enough fire into either of us. Me, to drill down and focus on designs that could win the contest, and you to abandon concepts that shouldn't really be ranked and not competitive ... when bringing forth a new concept would serve you better.
So please do not be insulted when some concepts go quickly into the not interested column. Let's both communicate and focus on the potential winners!
And by the way, thanks once again everyone for all of the hard work and patience you're demonstrating,
Hi Lindsey, Diana and I are getting nervous here. We've got you ranked really high but haven't seen the changes we asked for on May 28th (see post above). Thanks, Mark
Hi! No need to be nervous! You can always rerank if you decide that you prefer other designs over mine. This is a challenging logo, so I've needed to work, step away from it, work step away from it. The creative process can be fragile, so I appreciate your patience. I've got three new variations here. I've basically just played around with different ways to execute the same concept. If you think I'm on the right track with any of them but would like more changes, just let me know. There's still time before the contest ends for me to make tweaks. I appreciate your consideration. Good luck finding the perfect logo for your company! Thanks, Lindsey.
Here's one more entry just like my first one, but with a new font, a new color scheme, and hopefully a better letterform mark - i think the M and W are easier to identify, but the wave concept is still present. Thanks!
I think the graphics in #455-457 are too nebulous. They don't really work.
I'd really like to concentrate on #42 and see if we can make that work-work.
Rather than breaking the wave in two (visually disturbing), couldn't you just extend the waves and rectangle slightly outward on both edges to more complete the light blue M and the dark blue W?
That would also let you make the name and tag line slightly larger, and easier to read?
