#22 Thank you for your entries. We very much like entry 22. We clearly see one dog, but the other dog looks a bit like a cat to us (the one on the right hand side) Could you draw a new dog to replace the "cat"? If possible, we would very much like one dog to be a labrador retriever and one dog to be a border collie - still facing eachother. Is it possible to have the hearts replaced by dog paws? Thank you!
The border collie I'm not quite happy with it but will take a break and look at it again tomorrow....when drawing it is sometimes harder to capture an image in a few simplified lines..
I will be out until tomorrow evening again and will check back at that time for your notes
#33 Thank you for your new entries! Could you remove the paws again, please. So that we can see your drawing with only the two dogs in it. We still like your entry 22 (without the hearts) - we very much like your fine, soft lines! You are right about the border colle... perhaps something about the ears...(a bit more up-standing..) Thanks!
I will do that for you...actually #22 was a cat on the right so I will add the golden retriever in place of it.
The border collie has a very distiguishable soft down turn on the end of th ears...not too pointed, when I tried them standing up more it looked like a German shepherd....
Will work on some additions for you and have them within a few hours.
Here are 2 variations...both without the paws...and I reillustrated the border collie to look more accurate with the simple line....I also reillustrated the daschund...if these inspire a new idea please let me know and I will do that for you...
#71 Can you draw the dog more happy, content, proud? Like a dog who has been very clever in dog school and knows it :-) To us the dog is very sweet, but a little to "lost in the world" and humble. We would like dog owners to associate our school with very competent dog trainers and therefore very clever dogs (and owners) :-)
I illustrated this for you of a border collie...if you like this style I could take it further and try to illustrate it doing something other than as an emblem, or just a simple outline with no color....but it may take me a little time to illustrate a full body since I have to do research from several looks....if you have any photos to add to this that you could post here for me and use tinypic.com
If you like the face on #71 as opposed to the face on #78 I can make its face happier since it is a little more simple in the lines...if I change the face too much on this one?
I could also try to add the face with no color from #80 of the border collie if you like.
I will be available for a couple of hours and then away for the rest of the day... Will check back and again tonight.
We find the face in 78 to "hairy"... :-) But still like your drawing - and - yes please face 71 happier without the "hair" We will send you some dog photoes later for you to draw from.
Here are basically the same dogs with changes so that they aren't so hairy.
I guess I took all the hair lines out...if you want something in between let me know.
Also #80 do you want to see the border collie simple lines? Did you notice I have one eye blue and one eye brown...gorgeous dogs! and if so, would you like this also less hairy?
We have uploaded pictures of a border collie (and of a labrador and a sheepdog) See also our comment to all designers.
We like 100 better than 98 and better than 71. In 55 we still think there is something wrong about the border collie :-) ....but like the lab/golden very much!
Can you make your lines in your drawings more thick? We love the way you draw, but we need the final logo bur be more eye chatching - so that is will be our logo people see as the first thing in the magasines ect. Perhaps this is done by a thicker line...? What do you think?
I'm here and will work on some options for you from your notes.
I did try the thicker line...but it can't go to much thicker because the lines run together but I will see what adjustments I can make for this to happen.
I changed the face on the border collie after looking at your attachments... If there is anything that you can see that is off on the lines I can correct them... there isn't much difference noticed other than I did make the ears stand up more and one I changed the colors a little for more recognition.
#110 We really like the border collie and labrador on this entry :) But is it possible to make the neck on the labrador a bit thicker as on entry 55? Its okay if you need to move the labrador up a bit, so its "higher" than the border collie (as in entry 55)
Also it could be nice to see the logo in black - both the text and the outline
If its possible we would also like to se a thicker line. We now its difficult for you, but if it is possible we would apreciate it.
The neck on the lab was actually the same as #55 but I think when I thickened the line it mad it look narrow...so I made some adjustment..if it is not accurate I can go back to the original that we started with
Thank you for all your entries - we like them a lot :)
#128 We like this entry very much :) It could be fun to see the drawing filled out (as in entry 108) Maybe in grey with black text and also in black with black text...
#100 We like your style - its a bit Tintin-like (which is a very good thing) We would love if you could keep the style but maybe add a bit more "power" into the drawings - use thicker lines and less "hairy" dogs (does it make any sence?)
It would be nice if you could make two dogs instead of one, and we would love them to be the same breeds as in entry 128 (a labrador and a border collie).
We would love to see the dogs in some kinds of motion /action and maybe interaction with the text?
We will attach a new border collie photo. A black/white border collie who has a very nice expression. And as inspiration for the labrador type you can use the pictures of the brown labrador...
I will look over this and send you revisions this evening...
I saw your attachments and will look at these new ones...
What do you mean 'interaction with the text'? maybe like having the dog standing or sitting on the name? something like that?
It is about 7 hours difference so when you wake up in the morning I should have some new designs for you. Tomorrow is a very long day for me so I will get back with you in the evening for any addition notes you may have.
Yes with interaction we mean that the dogs are jumping over the text, running on the letters, putting a paw on a letter and so on. But the interacting is not the most important part for os. The look of the two dogs and that they are in some kind of motion instead of standing, sitting, lying ect is more important to us.
Nice day to you - looking forward to see the new designs :)
I know all of these are silhouettes but it would help me to know first if any of the layouts are interesting to you and if you like for me to add some details in the face I can do that for you.
#141 is the gray and black... the others with just the border collie chasing a ball I can add the retriever also.
Tomorrow is also one of my days away from the computer. I will check with you in the morning here and then when I return in the evening I will work on other layouts for you.
Also, have you seen my portfolio here on LT? If you look at my designs and the different styles of my illustrations, I could incorporate a style into your logo.
#145 Thank you for this entry. It was really nice to see the logo in all black. We like it a lot but will keep it outlined as in entry 128 - which is still our favorite emblem :)
#140 #142 #143 Thank you. Nice that you are drawing a border collie and a labrador. But the silhouettes are a bit to "anonymous" for us. We would like some more personality into the dogs. We like the simple lines but it could be nice if you could draw a bit more like the "Tintin" dog in entry 100. This dog has a lot of personality.
Also the labrador and border collie is a bit too "heavy" for us - can you make them more sporty and slim?
I will be out all day teaching today so won't be able to submit new ones for you until this evening. I will work on the character and the ones you like to give them more movement and lines.
Just want to let you know I am working on some new illustrations for you and doing more research. Will upload them tomorrow morning...tonight if I finish.
Thank you so much Terasa, We will rank and comment on the new entries soon.
The border collie breed is all most split in two part. The dog show border collie's who are heavier/bigger and has a lot of hair (typical the bc type you find if you just google). The type I have is from herding/working lines - and they are much faster and built to run like the wind and work many hours on sheeps (if you know what I mean). The color on my dog is called "blue merle" :)
