please do this design without the cross.
make the compass a black or dark grey tone, leaving the heart red

We are interested in the compass being a little more "edgy" or modern and/or abstract. Still using the heart for "true north" maybe the heart could be slightly bigger - or more emphasized? thank you so much!

We like where you are going with this - we wondered if you could remove the cross, and create more of a clear "compass" on the back - using the heart as "North"
