Mel, I think they are both too plain. I like the script in the simple one but would like something a little more iconic.

Though plain, I think the horn on #19 acts as an emphasis to the name as well as being a symbol of a longhorn.

#47, #48, #49 and #52 are versions mainly with varying color schemes.
On #51, I created a symbol that incorporates the intials "L" and "r" with some subtlety as well as being pictoral mark.
