I actually really enjoy these designs. Your ideas are very diverse. These would all make great logos for companies just like mine, but one of the things I was sort of trying to convey with the name of the company is that filmmaking is sometimes difficult and dirty. We make images out of light, which requires skill and finesse, but it's also hard, manual labor sometimes. These logos are all very well designed and I'm really impressed. But I'm sort of looking for something that will work with that animation I want to do that I mentioned on the home page of my contest. I don't think these would work with that.
I really like where you're going with 175. My only thought is that both "Light" and "Forge" are getting lost a little. I like how Light is enclosed in the box, could we try making the box a little higher so the tops of the letters don't touch the top edge?
Also, I really like the distressed forge, but could we bring a little of the letters back? the f the o and especially the r are sort of disappearing a little too much.
I really like it though. I'd just like to be able to read it immediately. You can read it now, you just have to look for a second.
number 196 is the one I'm leaning toward at this point. I like how from a distance it's still recognizable as a logo.
can we bring the "light" and "forge" a little closer together and make the silver box a little shorter on the right? I feel like there's too much empty space on the bottom right of the t in light. Not a lot, just a little.
Also, The font for "light" might be a little thin. Can we thicken it a little? Not a lot, just a little. It's very, very close. I really like it. I like the way the "forge" looks. can we separate the F from the O? I know you've doubled up the O a little or something, but I think I'd prefer it if the letters didn't quite touch.
I like 198 a lot. I have no notes. If I go with that one I might try superimposing a steel texture over it, but I could just do that. Really at this point it's just deciding which of the two I like better.
These are great. I like how one side is elegant and one side is scrappy.
Now I'm nitpicking, but since I asked you to trim one side of the light box, now the left side feels like there's too much empty box. if this design wins I could always crop a little off myself, but I figured I might as well ask you to do it. I just mean there feel like there's a little extra box to the left of the L
